You could have given me +10,000 odds and I wouldn't have bet 1 dollar on it.

Kelly looks like a genius

He is progressing. There were still times where he didn’t throw into areas or “throw open” his receivers. Coverage will be better next game due to the push by their dline. Both of those will mean the receivers will need to get off their men for quick hitches and Denbrock will need to become more creative in the run game.

I don’t understand this ridiculous sentiment. JD has made phenomenal progress the past two weeks. But you guys act like he was lighting it up pre Florida when he obviously wasn’t.

And notably both against SEC defenses.

Its almost as if a guy who got here in the spring needed time to learn a new offense, new players around him, a new offensive line to gel, etc.

Yes, there have been questions, and there still are some things he could definitely improve upon - notably he's late to throw fairly often, almost as if he's double checking himself, but he's clearly becoming an elite player.

Yes he’s a freak show athletically but he isn’t half the player Daniels is.
Daniels may be the best running QB in the country. He just needed to be an average passer to be extremely dangerous. Dude is so elusive.

But all he does is run and can’t read defenses according to some of the experts on the rant.

This is a terrible take. If you are actually an attorney you should be able to reason better.

Daniels plainly was unable to read defenses and get the ball to the correct receiver. That’s not just a matter of opinion; it’s a matter of fact. If you don’t believe me, just ask Coach Kelly; he was near apoplectic about it for several weeks.

The fact that Daniels is improving on this the last two weeks does not change the fact that he was woefully deficient at it a few weeks into the season.

Hopefully he will keep improving, especially on his accuracy, which is still wildly erratic.

if we could eliminate the drops.

I’d love to see this, but if I had to choose I’d keep the drops and eliminate the horrific throws to wide open receivers deep downfield.

People are making much of Daniels’ impressive completion percentage, but he’s only about 50% on meaningful throws.

I’m not trying to dog the guy, and I have high hopes as he continues to improve, but the reality is:

1. He missed a pitch and catch TD to Thomas.
2. He missed a pitch and catch TD to Boutte.
3. He missed a pitch and catch TD to Jenkins that should have been intercepted, except Jaray made a fantastic and aggressive play on the ball.
4. He killed a drive by missing a wide open five yard dink to the TE.
5. Even on the gimmees he threw behind the TE on a swing pass.

That’s just from memory. Our coaches are getting kids wide open. He has to hit more of them. He did make some nice throws to go along with the majority of his completions, which were dinks. He is starting to hit some timing routes and hit receivers as they are reaching the gaps in the defense. And his leadership and running is elite.

I truly believe this guy is on the stage at the Heisman awards next year, but he has a long way to go. My optimism is based on his obvious progress, continued good attitude, and relentless coaching by Kelly.

That's up there in Big Joey B territory. Just has to keep doing what he's doing.

Exactly. I think LSU lost to FSU because Daniels was scared to throw the football and late on making decisions. The same thing with Tennessee but not sure LSU would have won even if he played great. However, if he finishes that drive late in the second quarter it could've been a 20-14 game at half with LSU spotting Tennessee 10 of those points on special teams.

Everyone is happy that he is improving. Against Florida he finally started just putting the ball up and giving the receivers an opportunity to make plays. As his confidence has grown the last two weeks the offense has looked much better.

Except part of that “critique” was that Daniels was who he was and wouldn’t ever improve with more time in the offense.

So no, they were not right.

So, everyone that criticized Daniels spoke with one voice and said the same thing? LOL no.

And the dude is a 4-year starter halfway through his senior year. Expecting him to see a wide-open receiver is not hating. He played like shite, not he's playing well.

No one should apologize for recognizing this. No one "hated" him. It's lazy to suggest otherwise.

Maybe discuss the open throws he didn’t make. That’s a big enough problem.

Maybe he took responsibility for poor play and is now engaged. Have you nerds thought of that? Plus Denbrock play calling sucked the first six games with all this underneath BS.
I’m glad JD has stepped up. Didn’t know if he had in him. Glad for the young man. Now go beat bama.

Every QB makes mistakes. Hendon Hooker missed 5-6 easy throws against us that he just sailed/misplaced.

Last 3 games-- Daniels 1,050 yds/ 12 TDs.

Throw in the 203 running yards and 6 rushing TDs in the same time frame, and you have a Burrowesque figure that appears to be in the «FAST LANE» to a next Heisman Trophy!

So you watch other games and see their QBs? No one is perfect, you critique Daniels on every little thing. He makes plays most college players can’t make while avoiding the mistakes most guys make.
