My last game with my paw paw was LSU vs AZ ST in 05. Couldn't have been a better game to go out on. He was so sick (stomach cancer) I had to tell him Doucet caught the ball to win the game. He died that next morning.

I always thought that God made heaven to be each man's most wonderful, perfect place. Maybe when your Grandpa walks through the pearly gates, he will walk out onto the 50 yard line in Tiger Stadium, in front of 95,000 screaming fans, and God will announce over the PA: "Welcome to Death Valley. The sun is going down and it's Saturday Night!"

I'm emotional enough with today being 9/11 and all the ceremonies on TV and the fact that I live 10 miles from the WTC and work i Manhattan. I then read all these posts and I feel uplifted that this gentleman is a beacon for all of us. Let the Tigers win for him and let him go with a peaceful herart that he lived a good life and left a great family legacy.

God Bless him, the family and all the USA today

I never had the opportunity to meet either one of my grandfathers. Cherish the time you have remaining with him. He sounds like a great tiger fan. And he's lucky to have such a caring family and grandson!

Prayer sent for your grandfather and your family. I lost my best friend to cancer last year. He was only 42. It was a very tough experience to watch. I pray that your grandfather suffers as little as possible. Geaux tigers!

I woke up this morning all concerned about what the score will be, and then I read your thread. Being honest it brought tears to my eyes and I'm not an emotional person.

Believe me, this will not be the last Tiger game he will see, he will just have a better seat for the games in the future! My prayers to Grandpa, you, and the rest of your family! Someday you will all be watching the games together again!

Adam,

to your grandpa. I lost my Mom in 2008 to cancer, so I know how it is. I asked my Mom if she would go with my brother and I to tiger stadium. She couldn't make it because of the chemo, but she wanted to go. I she is up in Heaven watching down on all of the Tiger fans.

My condolences to you.

Get a tape recorder, and get him to start talking about the experiences of going to games back in those days. I think you will treasure it in the future.

I went to 28 years worth of games with my father efore he died in 1990. North End zone, Sec 11, Row P, seats 3,4,5 and 6. I still miss him.

My Dad's last game to watch was last year when we beat Arkansas 33-30 in OT. He passed away Dec 20th. Yesterday would have been his 65th birthday...It has been really hard this year not being able to talk to him about the Tigers...Man I miss him!

Enjoy your time with your grandpa while he is here..God Bless!
