Gray driving into the lane with no where to go didnt help. Tq stepping out of bounds either. Come to think of it the 3 that hornesby took was an awful shot even if that was the play He had a couple more seconds to get a better one

Agree. What was the point spread?
I came away, despite the loss, believing that JJ and the team proved that he can coach and they can play at a high level. Kentucky has too many great players. Hope Martin and Mickey stay and we can get them next year.

Well at this point if we don't make the tourney that will be 2 out of 3 years where we have had enough talent to be a tournament team and didn't ..who's fault is that?

They should have been attacking the basket. We had double bonus with 5 minutes left. Feed the bigs the rock!

This.

If he's going to get blame, he should also receive credit. I really thought that the team could have been headed for a blowout early in the second half, but they battled back and gave themselves a chance to win. The team certainly had a chance to win, but they didn't. A 3 pointer here or there down the stretch and a better free throw percentage and they pull off the upset of the season. They were one last second shot away and I was as disappointed as anyone. I would certainly like to see our team develop the ability to run a set offense for an easy shot down the stretch when it matters. I don't give a shite about moral victories either, but putting this into perspective, this is a Kentucky team that has been projected by some of the most knowledgeable people in the industry to go undefeated. They have blown out top 5 teams by double digits. Great effort and one bucket short.

Trust me, if we had won the game, people like the OP would have gotten on here to complain how - due to poor coaching - we didn't win by 10 points or more. Folks like the OP always have someone else to blame for their discontent (and, they are always discontent).

6.6 seconds to play, inbound to midcourt, only to get a turnaround 3 by Hornsby. Is that the best JJ can draw up? Or does he think the guards are better than Mickey and Martin? Explain.

This is BS. If the last shot had gone in it would have been JJ's brilliant strategy.

Maybe get Hornsby coming off of baseline cut where he should get a screen or two to get some separation from the defender. Catch the ball in stride in a curl and be squared up to hit a shot that's he's hit numerous times all year. If it goes in the tigers win. If not, Mickey and Martin are positioned under the goal with some space for the put back, just as they've done numerous times all year.

Turns out that Hornsby didn't get the separation he needed and couldn't hit the shot. The rebound came out wrong and Mickey couldn't control it. Believe it or not, drawn plays rarely work out exactly as they should. There were several other times in the game where we ran plays to perfection. This includes one coming out of a timeout where it was obvious that jones drew it up during the timeout.

The 5 seconds left on the shot clock time out play was 100x worse. Was there an actual play called? Or did he tell Grey to just "figure it out"?

But this game was lost inside. KY scored their last 7 points after offensive rebounds.
