He could also be the starting right tackle on the Colts as well since they are weak on the line.

Here are some questions for those who are knowledgeable about this kind of thing:

Do pro players get a percentage of money for jersey's sold with their name and number? And if so, is this somehow restricted by where they are are drafted or if they are unsigned free agents?

Depending on the answers to these questions, I can see LC making some change from jersey sales if he is cleared and signs a minimal contract. Especially for a team like the Saints where people are familiar with him.

Of course I'd think things like Nike/Adidas contracts would be more lucrative but I'm not sure how many o-lineman get those and I'd think big companies would maybe have a higher standard to accept he was totally in the clear. Still, I'd be nice if he could get some endorsement deals.

NFL has some serious connections, and they found out why police are wanting to speak with La'el. He's done. Good job ruining your life La'el. Probably should have just been a man and paid the child support.

That's a great point because I hear of people dropping $100-300 on replica offensive lineman jerseys all the time.

They are not cutting productive players each year just to get under the cap number and going forward their cap situation is better than the Saints.

This is completely false & it's actually the other way around. The Saints have big contracts like Marques Colston, Brees & Jahri Evans coming off the books in the next 2-3 years while Seattle is about to have to give a huge chunk of their cap to Russell Wilson.

It doesn't matter what you would do. Once the story is out that you are wanted for questioning in a murder, your draft projection is gonna fall like a freaking boulder rolling down hill in todays NFL climate.

Where does this idea come from that the police conduct murder investigations over the phone???

He got his butt down here Friday and is yet to be seen. I have a hard time seeing him as a serious suspect with this delay in an questioning.

So the Saints did not cut Curtis Loften to help with the cap, despite the fact he was productive?
Seattle will not give a huge chunk of cap to Wilson because they recognize even though he is efficient he isn't worth 25+ million. I could see him signing for 15m a season, which won't hurt the team.

Exactly. I always laugh at everyone who thinks well never sign anyone again bc the talking heads always think we're so cash strapped

they will sign Brees to a 2 year 30-50 million dollar deal after he has another productive season

An aging Brees will have no leverage in his contract negotiations. He's going to have to sign a cap friendly deal just like Peyton Manning which will probably have language in it making it basically a year to year deal, leaving the Saints with a way to back out of it if Drew shows any signs of a massive decline.

Well that is pure BS... Brees has a productive season this year he will have a ton of leverage considering what he has done for New Orleans.

Broncos signed Manning to a 5 year 98m dollar deal.... Manning is guaranteed 15m this year and 19m next year

The moves the Saints have been making is so that have a ton of cap space when Brees is finished. They got rid of Lofton because he was a slow LB & a liability in coverage. He became expendable. Why in the hell do you think they drafted a much more athletic ILB with their 31st pick?

With a cap hit of only 17.5 million not 26.4 & 27.4 million like Brees will be the next two seasons. Get your facts together.

quote:

Manning has a cap hit of $17,500,000 while his dead money value is $5,000,000.

quote:

In 2015, Brees will earn a base salary of $18,750,000 and a workout bonus of $250,000. Brees has a cap hit of $26,400,000 while his dead money value is $33,550,000.

Which last year proved he wasn't and another productive season will force the Saints to sign him for another couple of years.

He may have been a liability in coverage but he was productive for the Saints and that is a big issue.

Because they released Lofton and need to replace him with someone else, anyone else.... a draft pick means very little until he produces

Lolololololol You think the Saints went into the offseason without a plan of how to take care of the position? I'm not going to derail this thread anymore because you are just dumb as frick.
