Guys like Skenes, Crews, and Bregman should supplement the core of the team like Beloso, Dugas, Morgan, Mahtook, Barbier etc.

Again for the slow ones

Nobody here would ever tell you Orgeron was elite but the same guys think Johnson is Baseball Jesus.

Every move he has made this year has failed except Holman and maybe Bingham. He’s complaining about the roster while taking transfers from guys like Braswell and Loer. There were plenty of people here saying Hurd was an Omaha flash-in-the-pan.

Not sure why anyone would downvote this. NIL has turned college sports into armies of mercenaries, where the hired guns didn’t grow up bleeding school colors and bringing that passion of a childhood dream come true to the field. Love the fence BK and Frank and others are putting up around the state, I think we will see positives come out of it on the football field. Are there just not any kids good enough coming out of Louisiana to have more of a presence in the dugout? This team seems very listless, I keep thinking Smoke must have returned.

What mental gymnastics? The proof is in the pudding. Every championship team we’ve had was full of Louisiana kids.

lol wait so Louisiana state university had kids from Louisiana on the team when they won championships? thats a shocker. especially in the sport with the least athletic schollies so you have to have walk-ons to fill out your roster.

we have plenty of Louisiana guys on the team right now, so I guess if we win it will be because of them?

Many of the best players in LSU history aren’t from Louisiana.

Yes, winning it all tends to make one elite.

Took more than a decade but the board finally admits that Mainieri was elite!

Active coaches with CWS championships:
Jay Johnson
Mike Bianco
Chris Lemonis
Tim Corbin
Brian O’Connor
Kevin O’Sullivan
Gary Gilmore
John Savage
Corbin is the only coach with more than 1, so I’d say yes, Jay is elite.

Has there been any above average player on the team, in two seasons, that wasn't developed by another staff.

Did I say we shouldn’t recruit out of state players? I realize we’ve gotten good players from other states. We should always recruit nationally because we’re LSU. The last few recruiting classes have been heavy out of state and this team is about as mentally weak as I can remember.

How much homegrown talent does Vandy have?

Vanderbilt isn't the flagship State University. They're rich brats from all over the world.

I agree that there should be some Fontenots and Theoriots on the team. People that stick with program, get good and play vital roles in years 2-3. I like Tommy Tanks as much as the next guy, love him in fact, but it struck me as odd that our best hitter and all three starting pitchers at the start of the year were transfers. Sign of the times. HVL transfers in, plays one year, transfers out. Sucks when baseball posters see the team struggle and instantly start talking “portal”. Just ain’t the same no more.

Not many of these kids seem to give a shite about LSU or Louisiana aside from Travinski, Milazzo and Guidry

It's very obvious. Even Holman when interviewed sounded like he didn't care much, he was just here to pitch.

PA kid goes to Alabama and then LSU. Obviously he isn’t here because he bleeds purple and gold.

This is not a good take. Simply having Louisiana guys on the roster does not make this team better.

To the we should supplement core players from Louisiana guys. That’s called how everyone does it. Every team takes the best guys from their state and then you try to get the best in the country.
