I don't want another year of the converted saftey project. Really speaking of S. Francois. Don't think he has natural lb instincts which is why he gets caught up in blocks. I would like to see L.Barrow get a shot at the strong side LB. Much more physical and natural to the the position. Minter will do fine at the Mike needs to get bigger and faster. Baker will be a beast again. Don't know much about there back up. Francois, Welter, and T. Jones can play all three I'm sure. Going to be a very interesting spring.

I also think Minter is going to be great. And to be honest, although I think francois gets the nod this year, I think barrow has a nice future as well, it will be interesting to see how they use him. I've heard good things about Muncie/Welter/Johns we'll see how that works out. I also want to see how they use Maclin, kid is going to be really good wherever they use him maybe LB but I see the staff going to DE (maybe already a DE )

Forgot all about Munice, is he awake from the Ark game, lol! He will be fine also. Maclin will be the pick of the bunch I think. Although, I think after a spring and summer with Mofit, he might have to live with his hand in the dirt at DE.

I remember seeing maclin play a little DE this fall, but i think he would be better at Mike, bigger and stronger in the middle, plus he came from Tenn to play LB for Chavis...

Maclin was the main FR that pissed me off the most that we had to burn his redshirt. i really think he's going to be good wherever he ends up, dudes got a motor no matter if his hands in the ground or standing up in the middle.

yeah, im not sure why either...

minter or barrow, neither has impressed me....

still think it should be maclin in the middle, we need size, we got the speed on at the OLB's....need a big body run stopper like KShep...
I see DJ welter gettin some love next year too at Strong side LB....

Don't think Maclin can get the pad level he needs to play at mike, he can play strong side if anything. Would great to match up against TE's and Tackles. Barrow and Minter were two pups this year. I think they will have there coming out party this year. I like the physical nature of Barrow more than anything. Minter just kind of trusting what I read and going off experience. I hope he's better next year.

He may not get a chance if we get CJ Johnson

Minter was the best LB on the field in the spring game in place of Shep. I think we'll be fine with him at MLB. Prototypical MLB'er.

wouldbt be surprised to see Barrow starting in place of FRancois this year. Though Miles will want to stay true to the Sr.

Minter, Muncie, Maclin,Welter, Johns, Jones, Barrow, and any incoming freshmen gives Chavis a lot of talented options to join the mix with Baker and Francois. I agree that Francois is still learning the nuances of the position but I did see some encouraging signs from him late in the season. Chavis will have this group ready for Oregon. Of that I have no doubt.

If we can convince C.J.Johnson's mother to let him come to LSU he will play a considerable amount
of time at LB. He's the 6th or 7th rated LB coming out of HS this year. He is from my hometown and folks, he is the real deal. He decommitted from State and has no interest in the Arky's (though he is taking a visit there in late
January). He is 6'3"-225 and can cover from sideline to sideline like a monster. It's us and Ole Miss - he told a friend of mine that he would love to play for John Chavis.

I know Mingo has been a good pass-rushing DE but could he be better used as a Sam LB?
