I am a die hard LSU fan and have been since birth but about 20 years ago I was lucky enough to play college baseball but not good enough to play for LSU. So it's nice to see my alma mater get a big win for their program. The new coach has them on the rise and don't be surprised if they win the Southland Conference and make a regional.

I said it after the weekend, LSU just doesn't have enough hitters that drive the baseball. Maneiri built this team for the old balls and it is just not gonna work with all these slap hitters. His pitching staffs have been top notch for the most part, but with the exception of 2009 the position players he has put on the field have been made up of guys that would have been playing along side me 20 years ago. Bregman would be the only guy to start for one of those great teams in the 90's and even that is a stretch. People today just don't realize the talent that Skip Bertman was rolling out year after year. It was amazing to watch and play against.

Pitching....Hitting....Defense

So far, LSU is 1 for 3. Long year, new hitting coach. Patience will be needed.

But last year we bitched that we our team had too many power hitters to play small ball

From reading OP, sounds like he may have played baseball for Nicholls.

Is it wrong for an LSU fan who played a sport for another college to congratulate the program that gave him an opportunity to be a college athlete? Especially being these types of mid-week games mean alot more for the smaller in-state schools than they really do for LSU this early in the season.

Certainly not. But ever since the Stony Brook curtain call in 2012 a lot of our fans from the 'badarse brigade' think we should boo a player helped off the field with a broken limb. These are tough guys and they demand the same from the team fortunate enough to have them cheer for.

We should probably find that grey area in between this

quote:

think we should boo a player helped off the field with a broken limb

and this

Yeah not allowing victory laps or congratulating the opposing team is the same as

quote:

'badarse brigade' think we should boo a player helped off the field with a broken limb.
