Lots of thoughts in here about QBs and season predictions.

He says 11-1 with a loss to Alabama and a playoff berth. Is this crazy? Thoughts?

He also says LSU better stay healthy in the defensive front 7. Calls the Tigers "paper thin" there.

My biggest concern is Beckwith. If he goes down, the defense could have a huge fall.

There's depth on the line. Just not much experience. MLB is extremely thin, though. We need Beckwith to stay healthy.

Otherwise

Time for Feist to finally step up and live up to his recruiting hype. I have been hoping for good things from him for years. Time to see it.

Wish Clifton Garrett would have panned out. That was a 5 star, #1 rated, MLB who totally bombed. Hard to predict that.

Exchange Alabama for Arkansas and I agree. Bama has issues in the secondary and their QB situation is worse than ours. Arky's run game will give us fits, and Brandon Allen is gonna show a lot of people that experience at QB is invaluable in the SEC.

yea i do not get all the Alabama love - they lost their top 7 players. They will lose to Ga, LSU, and Auburn. I think we split the Ark/Ole Miss games.

I really don't get the fear of Arky's "dominant rushing attack." They were exactly like us last year (they had 9 more yards on the season). Strong run game, but what else? We have FAR more weapons in the skill positions that they do.

Likely to drop one of the last four games of the season. I would be happy if they went 3-1 during that stretch. Means they would have to be 8-0 going into those games. I don't see it. Maybe 7-1 and finish at 10-2.

Unfortunately LSU doesn't play them until late in the season. That's plenty of time for someone to step up, and for the unit to gel. However, I do think this will finally be our year. Law of averages.

I'll go out on a limb, I don't think we lose to Bammer this year. Unless the officials show up.

You're an admin on the rant.

Wanna qualify that statement about "no one?"

Sure, experience is good, but it isn't required.

Blake Sims hadn't taken a meaningful snap at QB before last year and had a new OC, but he played well.

At Auburn, Nick Marshall hadn't taken a D-I snap at QB before his Jr year, and he played well in his first year at QB (made it to the NC game) and then played well again his Sr year.

Same for Bo Wallace at Ole Miss - no D-I snaps but played very well his first year (and also last two years) at Ole Miss.

Oh, and Johnny Football (and Jameis too) did ok with zero prior experience.

Moral of the story - experience is certainly a good thing, but isn't required for a QB to be productive.

Winning 89% of your games since 09 while playing in the SEC west warrants a lot of "love" in my book.

I'm with you. But more importantly we have been feeling inferior for too long, since January 9, 2012!
Beating Bama this year will be a major accomplishment for our Tigers.

The same could be said about last year and went to Arkie and came out with a TOTAL of 124 yards of offense........ Arkie is gonna be real good this year... Tons of returning staters and they KNOW how to win n the SEC now....

I hate to say it, but there's been three supposedly stud players that I have been 100% right on... Sam McGuffie, Tre Valentine and Clifton Garrett.

All three turned into busts. I wish TV woulda made the field at some point because I still need to be proven correct that he's a bust on the field, not off it.
