Kirby Smart | Georgia Bulldogs

Year one record | 8-5
Year two record | 13-2 (Playoffs)
Year three record | 11-3
Year four record | 12-2
Year five record | 8-2
Year six record | 14-1 (Natty)
Year seven record | 15-0 (Natty)
Year eight current record | 9-0

Brian Kelly:
Year one record: 10-4 SEC West champions
Year two record: 6-3 (10-3 likely)

It took Kirby smart 6 years to win a national championship. Let BK cook

Kirby was 30 minutes and a second half collapse from a title in his second season

BK was one defense coordinator away from going undefeated. He also inherited a dumpster fire

There will be bumps in the road

BK needs to find a DL Coach first.

Until he does that the slide will continue.

This and UGA were dropping millions, assembling the most talented defensive roster in the country.

LSU isn't recruiting at that level.

To be fair, he also inherited a lot of talent from Richt.

A far cry from what Kelly had when he took over.

That's what makes this so frustrating

Now I'll grant that maybe we still lose to FSU but no one else on the schedule would have beaten us or come close to beating us with marginally better 3rd down defense

The fact that we were this close to having an undefeated season in year 2 should make you very excited about our future

Took KS 1 year to get a defense.

In fairness, Kirby inherited a program from Richt that was in a much better place than the one O left.

If they win it all again this year, Kirby should be right behind Saban as the greatest college football coach of all time.

I doubt this is the final record. A&M and UF can both beat this team, especially the former.

Kelly is much older and not the recruiter Kirby is or coach. This comparison is not good. Kelly is fat and happy now you can tell.

I like an every down D.

Maybe some turn overs.

I'm sorrry, but 7-5 is just as "likely" as 10-3, if not more, especially if JD5 is out!

you people are nuts... the 3 remaining games on our regular season schedule we will be significant favorites.

TAM is burning

Florida is way outmatched

It’s an apples to oranges comparison

Kirby took paver an infinitely better situation than Kelly

Richt left a championship caliber roster that just need someone to get them over the hump.

Kelly inherited 39 scholarship players and a team that was what 10-12 over the 2 previous years.

Not the same

Maybe rethink that phrasing.

And suddenly that seems wrong too

But phrasing aside, it would be nice to have better defensive play and generate more turnovers.

I guess the phrasing could have been worse, at least yo didn't say you'd like a stiff D.

Do you think we will compete for a title in his 3rd year?
I’ve heard from everyone including Kelly, that year 3 is the one
