I think the funny part of your comment was the pot trying to explain the stove to the kettle.

That's because according to SNL, and especially any time they use Heidi Gardner. Anyone from anywhere remotely considered south sounds exactly the same.

Best part about last weekends SNL was the musical guest.

Sorry. I lead you down a logical path, using comparisons to other states, simple things so you would understand... then I coupled it with the same comparison to this state... An analogy? And then, I added to the ending to make a point. Did the test scores comment hit close to home?

The premise of your "logical path", which seems to assume that I'm selectively offended by the jokes is false.

A) I'm not offended
B) I'm being consistent in that I find using old tropes solely for punchlines to be lazy and unfunny, and that includes the examples that you cited of Texas and California stereotypes. If somebody on SNL was doing an impersonation of Gavin Newsom and he just started making surfer references, it would suck too.

assume?

I didn't make an assumption... I asked a direct question. Sorry, if you didn't follow.

Then where is the question in what you said below?

quote:

Got news for you... When people think of CA, they don't think about Orange County, they thing about Hollywood, or Surfing... When people think of TX,they see Cowboys and Oil... When people think of LA, they think of Swamps and Aligators, and rediculous politicians, and poor health care, and poor test scores... etc. The stereotypes are there for a reason.

Or are you referring to:

quote:

Did the test scores comment hit close to home?

That question above infers / assumes that I'm supposed to be offended by that comment, no? I'm not. But that being used as a punch line for southern people is lazy.

I am still lost at the point you are trying to make. I'm not saying those things that you said (in the first quote) are untrue. My point was that those things alone as punch lines have been done to death and are not funny today.

Did the test scores hit close to home? Again, the punctuation should have tipped you off. It sort of wrapps up all in itself... puctuation, reading comprehension, low test scores, etc. Your assumnption is your own.

My assumption is that you missed your weekly meeting of the ignorant, tight arse club... AND...you failed to pick your mother up at her NRA meeting. Q...

This is good publicity. Means LSU and Mulkey are relevant. There was really nothing that mean spirited to get upset about...whether you think it's funny or not.

Do you have dementia, baw? You may want to go see a doctor because just a second ago you:

1: Claimed that you didn't make an assumption
2: Immediately followed that post with:

I'm not even kidding about the dementia. Your rambling makes absolutely no sense. Go see a doctor for your own sake.

The Kim Mulkey impression was the least funny part though. The old trope of "alligators, bayous, and swamps" is lazy and unfunny.
It would have taken me 15 min to write a script that would have had Kim, the team and all of Baton Rouge cracking up laughing.

Alligators, swamps...over-played

I give her a thumbs-up for the outfit

"Didn't" would mean past tense.. as in...I didn't make an assumption.

Also, "followed" would mean that even you understand that the "assumption" i made would have been after... as in response. Anyway. I assume the test scores hit close to home. Thanks.

What is your assumption based on? It does not make any sense.
