The amount of made up assumptions in this thread are astounding.
Keep up the good work rantards!

I know the coaches don't owe us anything and if this really is strictly a family thing I respect their privacy.
But something doesn't add up and I hate being in the dark about all this.

Lol, so de we prefer a coach that says nothing, or one that says shite but has no idea?
And btw, the staff is being secretive and shady. In the past, if a player was injured, we knew they were injured. Might not know the extent, but we knew guys like Faulk were missing the entire season due to injury. There wasn't cryptic messages, we just speculated on what the injury was.

I'm surprised there hasn't been any legit rumors or chatter about why he's gone. This was as tight-lipped an ordeal I've seen. Quite impressive, honestly.

That sounds about right.

LSU really has the worst fan base in the country. Key is now a malcontent and will never play for LSU again

There has been but its not a popular thing to bring up after TM7
Posted on 6/7/17 at 11:52 am to More beer please
I thought that was just wild speculation and not a rumor grounded in any hint of the truth.

There has been and some didnt think it was credible enough to even consider.

Fortunately we have a lot of depth at that Buck LB position, namely new enrollee K'Lavon Chaisson and RS freshman Andre Anthony.

I can't blame them after tm7. If he was rehabbing an injury, then just say, Arden Key will miss spring and part of fall rehabbing an injury. But no one from LSU has said that.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I would not be surprised in the least bit if Key doesn't play another down for LSU. Shite just doesn't add up lately.

It could be two separate and unrelated issues.
You people do realize that we have absolutely no right to the medical details of another person? Any details that we get are absolutely at the discretion of Arden Key.
Nor does Key have to disclose private/personal matters that aren't a part of the public record.
Relax, have a Snickers.

What a bunch of fricking wack jobs we have as "fans". Lol....unreal.
When I heard "shoulder injury" I immediately thought of having surgery on my torn rotator cuff and how the rehab was 6 months. Wonder if that is what Key went through. Idk. But I believe he'll be back and pick right up where he left off.

It's been 6 months. And we are just now hearing shoulder injury 6 months later.
That's why there is speculation.

True we don't have a right to his info, but he's an elite player at an elite program and if he chooses to not disclose info, he invites speculation and conjecture. It's just the way it is with people in the public eye.
I guarantee you he'll have to disclose it all to NFL teams.

I have no idea what kind of shoulder surgery he had, but here's my own shoulder surgery experience FWIW.
I dislocated my shoulder after an accident. Went to see a world-famous shoulder expert, who did an MRI but didn't find any structural damage (I was too sore for the doctor to really make any concrete determinations during the physical exam). Several years later, my shoulder spontaneously dislocated from very little pressure/exertion. I was living in another city and state, and went to see the shoulder orthopedist for an MLB team. He operated and found that I'd torn ~60% of my labrum. I'm related to an orthopedic surgeon and asked him after the surgery how my labrum could be so torn up without it showing up on the MRI. He said that those sorts of things just don't show up clearly on the MRI sometimes, and that the most reliable evidence was the spontaneous dislocation and subsequent physical exam.
Another important detail is that a guy who's really muscular like Key could have a shoulder issue like my labrum tear, but it would be much harder to detect via MRI and physical exam because muscle stabilizes the shoulder, meaning that he could have had a significant tear and constant pain without ever dislocating it.
And the recovery takes a little while, so I could completely see Key not wanting to have the surgery sooner because it may have seemed to him like he didn't need it, since it's possible that he had persistent pain but no dislocations. It's also possible that the recovery would've bled into fall camp anyway, so he wanted to avoid the surgery, if possible.
No idea whether my experience is applicable to Key's situation, but thought I'd share since lots of posters are saying that they don't know how or why he wouldn't have had the surgery sooner.
TLDR; shoulder injuries are complicated, so it's not unbelievable that he waited till now to have the surgery.
