Makes you wonder how Orgeron could put on those blue and red polos, telling Louisiana kids to go to Ole Miss and USC all those years

Why?

O wasn’t an LSU fan before coming here.

He has said he grew up a USC fan listening to games with his uncle who loved the Trojans.

Yeah, didn’t seem like a fan.

Another thing I took from last night, you could have put mike archer in a lineup with all women and said one of these people coached LSU in late 80’s-90. I wouldn’t have guessed him. Looked completely different.

I honestly believe that you can only do so well as a coach at a school if you went to an opposing university and grew up in a rival state.

Lol. How about Dabo Sweeney? How does that fit your hypothesis?

what a great speaker. he memorized that whole 30 minute oration. I know a few years ago he had a courtesy interview, and I know at the time he had no coaching experience, but I hope he can become as good a coach as he is a speaker. With his born determination I believe he will, and I hope he ends up here one day to coach our tigers.

I wouldn’t include him in the dog days.

There were some great moments and a ton of progress made from 95-97.

Yeah things took a bad turn his last two years but recruiting had picked up greatly and many of his recruits were the foundation for the early success Saban had in turning things around so quickly.

He brought the magic back, even if it didn’t last.

Not the golden age, but definitely not the dog days.

meh, when we were so fired up just to get in the I-Bowl that you'd have thought it was the NC game, those days were pretty doggy, fun game though, and cold as a mofo

I think that by now Curley realizes he wasn't worth a shite as a head coach. It is nice to have some one of Kevin's reputation tell the country what we all already knew.

this is just silly. Coaches want to succeed and win, wherever they are, regardless of where they grew up or went to school decades ago.

Finishing 12/13 in 96/97 with a 10-2 season and Peach Bowl win was damn solid.

We actually got screwed getting the Indy Bowl again in 97 imo, but the SEC was crazy stacked that year.

There just weren’t as many Bowl possibilities back then.

Great post! Everyone should watch that acceptance speech. He clearly mentioned every Head Coach and OL Coach he had, but no mention of Hallman. Curley must have been a real piece of shite...

Curley couldn’t keep his dick in his breeches or his hands off the co-eds while at LSU. To be fair, neither could I, but then again, I wasn’t the head football coach either.

I mean He may have not liked his OL coach.

Yea I was a walk-on the year after Mawae and Hallman didn't talk like that to ANY player. Fact. He had to be referring to OC or OL coach.
