Yea, the ole beat the ever living shite out of them line was never funny to begin with, but now it's just aggravating. Not to mention trying to shout the lines to neck to just about any song the band plays makes you look like a high school student.

Agreed

Isn't there a board somewhere for garbage that is in no way shape or form related to the actual game, players or coaches?

When are you going to realize nobody gives a frick that you cuss? If you think that makes the sluts wet to hear you say cuss words, cuss away. But when you repeatedly put retarded, immature lines to every song the band plays, pretty sure we'll be having to come up to clever ad libs for "Ceeelebrate good times, come on!!!" all night. And Im 27, love to cuss and love to get hammered. Just think its childish as frick. Which i guess is a continuing trend with the generations coming up now

So you're saying that the LSU band isn't really a part of LSU football?

Go cheer for Ole Miss.

Here come the posts about how past student sections were perfect role models, never cursed, and always stayed till 00:00 on the clock. Get over it. It's a product of this generation, social media, etc. It's not like it's exclusively LSU students being drunk and obnoxious. And it's not like there hasn't been cursing in the stands for years and years. I mean how long has "bullshite, bullshite!" been a chant whenever there's a bad call by the refs. This stuff is passed down for years, albeit there's new innovations every few years.

No I am saying we won are gonna be the #2 team in the nation with the #1 team on the schedule and whining about what students chant is not in any way relevant

I don't get it. The students get mad that the athletic department bans Neck, the band tries to give them a suitable substitute, and they do the same f'ing thing. What do you expect to happen??

Every season I've come here since '07, this has been posted after every home game. Plain and simple, the "vulgarities" have been around forever, and until you up the age of college students, they're not going to go away. They're not going to change anything, either. Piped in music happens more because athletes get pumped up to radio music, but the band won't ever be just phased out. I know this may seem like a surprise but not every student or student-athlete may get a massive erection from the band as you do. I wouldn't do it at a game. I also understand that I'm not going to go to a game played by 18-22 year olds at a college filled with 18-22 year old students who are are paying tuition and tell them to conform to my demands. Whether you guys realize it or not, you were no different or more respectful when you were in college.

I would be fine with cussing if it wasn't a saying as lazy and stupid as "Suck that tiger dick, bitch."

Yep. And maybe the way they act is childish, but they are all essentially still "children". They don't have substantial incomes, they still go to school and live off their parents, and most of the more immature ones are fresh out of high school being able to drink and be independent for the first times in their lives. A football game in tiger stadium isn't quite Sunday morning in church for these kids, not sure why it's hard to wrap your head around that.

Another thing to consider is that in recent years there's exponentially more cameras and mics all over the stadium. It isn't necessarily that there's more cursing now, but that it's more easily captured and getting on TV.

And there are plenty of students who hate the other students that do the chants. A lot of them miss Neck just as bad and wish others didn't ruin it. So instead of generalizing it as all students, please realize it's just a portion, most likely the freshman and sophomores, and not every person who is working for a degree

It's useless arguing with current students or those that started "tiger dick" a few years ago. Same as when I was a student and the "a-hole" cheer rang loud and clear on National TV, thus ruining "Tiger Rag" after scores. I'll bet current students don't even know the entire Tiger Rag because the best part is now cut out.

We have one of the best bands in the land, and I guess you guys feel it's just great to screw up whatever they play.

Whatever, guys, do what you think is "cool". I guess I'm just an old fart clinging to tradition.
