and beat the flack out of everybody. Ohio State or Iowa have to lose and all the Big12 teams have to play each other and Stanford and ND still have to play each other. The PAC12 will have to a one loss champion and could very easily have a 2 loss champion if Stanford losses to ND and then wins the PAC12 or if UCLA beats Utah and then 2 loss UCLA plays 2 loss Utah, the Big12 could very easily end in a 3 way tie with all the teams having one loss. So that would mean Clemson is #1, Bama/UF is #2, Big10 champ is #3 and then there is a clusterf**k for #4. So you are looking at 1 loss LSU, 1 loss ND, 3 Big12 co-champs with 1 loss, and a 2 loss PAC-12 champ.

It's pretty friggin difficult to go undefeated in the SEC. Do you realize that? No amount of gameplanning will change that.

Point taken...but sheer will/optimism on the part of the fans wont get you to the promised land...ever, despite what we think.

When it comes to Bama (and right now it should be all about Bama because they are the ones who have ruined our season for what seems like years on end)...its all about X's and O's AND Jimmy's and Joes's. We have equal talent every year with Bama but there coaching staff, taken as a whole, is light years ahead of ours.
Call that pessimism if you want but it's the truth. They've adapted and evolved and we haven't and this fact is going to continue to be a source of heartache for Tiger fans for the foreseeable future.

If you're ok losing to Bama every year...ok I guess. I'm not.

Well for one...Stanford is going to lose to Oregon Saturday. I seriously see that happening. And I also believe Ohio will lose one as well. Stanford will then beat Norte Dame. And call me crazy but watch out when the cocks play Clemson at the end of the season, that will be interesting

sure, we can use a great recruiting class. But that's only the start. We need all of these to be truly successful:

- Great recruits
- Player development
- Motivation
- Game-day tactics

I always ask this and I never get a response

I think we are still very much alive this year. Only one team out there that is a terrible matchup. Hopefully that team stumbles. Jmo

I agree...100%...LSU CAN beat Bama every year. I like the way you avoided the word WILL.

I hope you are right about those 2 because then it is just LSU and 3 one-loss Big12 co-champs. I could very easily see the playoff committee snubbing the Big12 agains because they don't have a champ. In which case it is LSU vs Clemson in the Orange bowl and we can get revenge for the chicken bowl disaster, and then LSU vs Bama in the natty and it would be awsome to flip the script and mulligan our way to a title.

Or it will be just as sweet for them to get grinded and we jump them win the SEC and not have to worry about is so Hail State!

Said last year......and the year before......and the year before that
yep. We will not get over the hump until we can beat Bama again. They ripped out the soul of this program on 1/9/12 and keep kicking us every time we think we've gotten off the floor. They are more than just an adversary. They are the stone wall that we keep running into that kills our season. Surely these continued failures on the field against them is hurting recruiting which will become a vicious cycle.

That's a neat little theory, but it is completely false.

Yes I know that it is very difficult to go undefeated in the SEC and in college football. However if Miles would do a little film study he would no not to run the ball right at Bama.

Yep. I'd be glad with a 11-1 record, Sugar Bowl win, Fournette heisman, and #1 recruiting class.

Only thing that would make it better is a conference and national championship. However, that's out of LSU's control right now.

So which is it?

No myth has been dispelled. There is still a chance of making the playoffs. We knew we were young this year. I said in the offseason that we could be this year's Ohio State. Going to the playoff a year earlier than expected.

LSU has never faced a more dominant DL than they did last week...not in the history of the program! Coach O and Grimes will fix that! The past failures at recruiting are now being repaired. We've done well with what we have currently. But if this class finishes up the way it can and we expect, all will be well!

Imagine that, and with the same old 2007 game plan.
