Man, I'm going to miss that goofball.

It was time for a change, but we were lucky to have such a great man at the helm for so long. The way he handled this administration bungling his employment for a year now is amazing. He deserved much better on his way out.

Thanks again for everything, Hatter

Miles handled himself wonderfully on it. The sentence structure was vintage Miles as well.

I will always respect how he handle his time and LSU and I will always root for him like he will always root for the Tigers. Awesome Guy that deserves respect. Time to move forward.

That guy is getting paid for ruining the program of the school he supposedly most cared about.
I have zero fond memories outside of a few games he happened to be on the sidelines for.
He is gone and good riddance to him.

Eh, kind of did it to himself. He had to make changes this year and didn't do it.

He's the greatest coach in LSU'S history, but he wasn't getting the job done anymore.

Dramatic much, we have more players in the NFL than any other team, yet he ruined our program. We're in better shape that anytime I can remember after a coach was fired.

No matter what you think of his coaching, this program is in great shape.

Less always interviewed well he just could not put it together on the field. Good interviewer and turned into a bad coach. Good luck at next job and thanks for at least keeping LSU in the spotlight

I'm with you on this one. Yes he's a nice human and I wish all were that nice and well liked. Truth be told, he ruined chances of some of those kids to be champions.
Show me kids who like their parents and show me kids who respect their parents. The ones with respect will be great kids as well, but also work harder. Although, kids that respect were usually treated with harder lessons.
His time here was solid. I think a LOT if coaches would have won more games with the exact same personnel. And it was obvious his preparation was less than others.

This is why we can't have nice things.

This is exactly proving my point.

He was 12-10 in the last 22 against power 5 and 6-8 in the west since 2014.
He said he would change the offense in November and lied to the administration at the sake of not firing his buddy.
He did this to himself and those of us that have been supporting the program financially for 30 years and parents (and grandparents) that have since 1961, have a right to say what we want about investing in the product.
When you invest as much as my family has, I think I can speak for what is fair and what was not.
It was completely fair how he was treated to the tune of the 12 MM he is getting for leaving.

I won't miss him one bit. I am so glad he is gone. He "goofiness" was an embarrassment.

I just don't get some of these guys. The OP acknowledged the need for change while paying tribute to what Les has done and how he is handling it. Why continue to drag him through the coals. He's gone. You CANNOT deny that he gave us the best decade in Tiger football history. For that alone it seems some could hold their tongue as others express appreciation. It just goes to show that they cannot be happy. He's gone and they can't let go of the hate even now.

How did he deserve better? His situation was entirely of his own making. Alleva supposedly had a come to Jesus talk with him after last season and made it very clear that changes needed to be made for Miles to keep his job. It's not like LSU fired him without a disciplinary meeting. LSU football is big business and should be handled as such. If my boss counseled me on poor performance and told me that unless I improved, she'd have no choice but to fire me, I sure as hell wouldn't ignore her warning. LSU gave Miles a second chance which he promptly squandered. I am grateful for what he's done at LSU, but I don't feel sorry for him at all.

Glad I never have to listen to him as the sitting HC of LSU ever again.

I think Frank Wilson had an equal amount to do with getting the best here.

I think the decision Sunday was fine. How it was done was fine. The way it was handled at the end of last year was not. Too much was released to the press early about what was going on behind the scenes. As Shaq said, "A man shouldn't learn about his job on an ESPN ticker." They screwed all that up last year which is why there was a rally to save him. So all that to say it was handled fine this time but not last year.

You guys are so freaking annoying. If it is bad you lay it all at his feet. If it is good you attempt to divide it up as much as possible so he gets as little credit as possible.
