this board is not representative of the fan base. the regular poster, including myself, probably spends too much time here because we love lsu football.

no one wants a sensible discussion. talk of firing the coach after 1 bad game? what B.S.
so, but ed was the recruiting coordinator, and it's his fault we don't have any players. yeah, for how many years? 2? we've been getting some quality guys in, but it hasn't been his show. it was miles.

there wasn't a top head coach available after jimbo and herman. yep, we could've called franklin, given Patterson an interview, even considered fleck. But I can't think of any proven championship coaches we could have hired.

who the hell do you think is out there? this is just so lunatic to be hollering to fire Eaux AT THIS TIME! please, go out and howl at the moon tonite and get it out of your system. I fear some of these ranters are going to lose their minds over college football.

at least wait and see what happens on the field before you go berserk. Please.

So you think Coach O was the third best coach available?

Everyone knows he isn't going to be fired after one loss or one season.

How many can you think of that at least have a winning record? Each one that crossed your mind was a better hire than Orgeron.

Why is LSU entitled to a proven championship coach? In fact, when does that ever happen? Championship coaches usually stay where they are.

Just get a good coach. There are more tiers than championship coaches and everyone else.

There was no search. And no way E O was the best available. No way. That was a lazy emotional hire. Nothing more. And it's sickening.

stoops retired. he was not available.

nothing indicates Kelly was available. he didn't win a national championship, but he want the Pac and got to the NC.

all the other guys - now you're telling me you want to take a chance on someone? none of them are proven coaches. some of them appear to be pretty good, but not on the level that will satisfy this crowd.

There is no argument that Joe Alleva is a moron for giving a 12 million dollar buyout to Orgeron.

Championship level. And Kelly will be coaching soon.

More proven than O.

Face it. You are the only moron in this thread.

Define proven, and why does Orgeron satisfy this requirement and not other coaches.

You take a chance no matter who you hire, even the championship guys have some degree of risk. But let's not pretend that the non-championship coaches are all in the same group as far as quality.

At least guys like Gundy, Fleck and Fedora have actually won conference titles. They certainly aren't more of a risk than the chance Alleva ended up taking.
