Again with the insults and not an actual response to what I said. Sounds like you are upset because you were a believer of the Jimbo is a done deal crowd.

An employee with a multimillion dollar salary should not have to be micromanaged.

This what I don't understand from our fan base. I do not want anyone telling Les how to coach or "fix" anything. Les should be simply told that his job is on the line. He can either figure out a way to fix it or he will be replaced.
I've been saying this since the moment Alleva announced Les was still our coach. You don't tell the head coach who he needs on his staff. This is Miles' staff and team. He can succeed or fail with the guys he chooses. It's his call.

I like that one email that references tigerdroppings.

King and Alleva will have to be let go before we can move on from Les. It was a shite show how this all went down.
I'm 100 percent for the AD pulling the rug out from under King by only giving back exactly what is demanded. No more surplus giving that way King knows his fricking place in this matter. He will learn you don't bite the hand that is feeding or in this case keeping him afloat.
We need a system president that understands that great athletics will help further their mission as system president. We also need one that is smart enough to learn how to trim a budget by cutting dead weight instead of hurting each program equally.

I certainly believe there was someone seriously talking to Alleva. When it didn't work out, there really wasn't a fall back plan. It blew up in their face.

I don't doubt this either. I just never bought into the done deal nonsense. Especially considering there was virtually zero chatter any where coming out of FSU but message board chatter.
I think people buying in on the done deal mess is really why we saw the wrist slitting melt from some people. They were had and they hate being wrong about things.

Well, all talk most likely went through a third party, the agents. It's why coaches can deny talking to other schools, because technically it's true.
The whole story will come out someday.

"And board member Rolfe McColister seemed bothered by the attention going to football, writing: "The public and fans are divided. What I don't hear is their position on who we hire for Provost. The key academic position and one king also has to make and we hear nothing [sic]. Only views on football coach. This speaks volume. Same with media. Oh well, we see their priorities."
Hey Rolfe, nobody cares about the fricking Provost. LSU is not some bastion of Ivy League education. LSU is (or used to be) an elite football program. With success in football comes more money for the academic side. What a jackass.

It will never officially come out, but at some point this story will become alot like the ole ball coach being passed over for the head job here.

It shows the LSU board is just like the Rant on this divided, most want a change but leery of the risk, that Alleva and Alexander or not competent to handle an issue like this, they don't understand had to work a 24 hour instant new cycle, and move slowly, they had a leak, they read and monitor the rant. (See email)
Basically a typical board, just like everyone I have ever advised or served on. (A well oil quick reacting intelligent competent board of one mind is as rare as an albino alligator.) I have worked with two in my lifetime, and what they were able to accomplish is unreal. With people appointed to represent different views and factions it is almost impossible to do.
Of course, this is what we see on public communications, what is important is always what goes on behind the scenes.

And that is exactly the problem. WE can get or create a demand for the boosters to shell out 25-30 million to pay for a coach who manages extra-curricular activities like football before he has won game #1, but could not give a rats arse about the academic side.
Hey joey, with all of the spending when LSU was top of the heap (it still is,btw) how much did that on the field success add to the improvement in the overall academics at the university?

Les should be simply told that his job is on the line
Any coach at a college football power knows his " job is on the line" when he begins losing 4 games a yr. as opposed to 2 for a 2 yr. period.
Just like they know their boss will begin mapping out his own path change for the program he runs if need be.
None of this should be a surprise to anyone.

Helluva post.
Alleva and Alexander both need to go after reading these emails. Unfortunately they will make it out alive. Its easy to see they dont have a strategy. They are managing their departments day by day instead of 2-3 years in advance. The one that isnt getting any talk about is rick perry because his emails are not subject to foi requests, the ones we saw of his here were just as bad as alexander and alleva's and you better believe he played just as big of a role in this whole thing.
I think the Negatigers should feel real lucky they didnt get their wish. Not because miles deserves to stay (imo he does) but because their is such a low chance that leadership could have made a good hire. Most likely a bad to mediocre hire while publically making lsu a laughing stock of the NCAA

What LSU gets is a direct result of the Athletics side of the equation. Do you not realize that the publicity and following that football provides in large part contributes to the political capital LSU does have? Are you so dumb as to assume that as a given...and complain that academics isn't getting more?
Posted on 12/9/15 at 2:01 pm to TutHillTiger
It should have been clear Alleva has no clue how to handle the media, he completely botched the duke lax deal so this comes as no surprise.
Posted on 12/9/15 at 2:04 pm to KiwiHead
when LSU athletics is rolling the money pours into the academic side. The athletic haters need to realize that without athletics they lose everything. If King was worth a salt he could manage a budget crisis competently. He instead goes for the nuke option and embarrasses the school by acting like we are bankrupt.
We have tremendous bloat on the academic side in the form of worthless positions and degrees.
