quote:that last part about the ADs is what I was talking about. The SEC ADs have basically said, home team can dictate. Not true across the whole NCAA, but SEC has this arrangement.
(The Athletics Directors have agreed to always grant a home team’s request to wear white jerseys, in which case the visiting team shall wear dark jerseys.)

They wore purple at home during the 80's and early 90's until Dinardo got the NCAA to change the rule that the home team could wear white if they so choose.

Yup. Saban has said about changing uniform traditions, that who is he to change traditions that have been going on long before he came onto the scene.

No way Saban plays that game, not his style, that's more Spurrier's "mind games".

They have to get permission from the visiting team to do that. It's bullshite obviously. Also who gives a frick what color they are wearing?

it's just that, when you go to your first game as a kid, and see them come out in purple, your kinda "branded" with that memory if you catch my drift.

We should either go Vandy '96 on them -- gold jersey, white pants, yellow helmets OR go full blown 1997 Independence Bowl with white helmets, white pants and yellow jersey.
