Does Wade bear any responsibility in this at all? Who created the mess to begin with. I’ll admit that Woodward and LSU didn’t back Wade but that was some shoddy recruiting.
It's amazing you guys are posting about this --- when there is a game happening right now. Without a game thread.

Bro I was so lost looking for the game thread. Figured my connection in the PMAC was why it wasn’t showing up

Yeah its hard to get upset about going 9-9 this year. Next year should be tournament or bust though

I don’t think we get an NIT bid but who really cares

Acceptable?

It’s better than any legitimate expectation heading into the season.

How would you like to compare and rate them?

Well I don’t like blaming players so…. I just don’t this team is as talented as you claim. Which is ok. Coach Mac is just getting started and the team improved a ton over last year.

We can compare their talent or recruiting rankings. We can compare veteran production, transfer production, size, ball handlers, wing size. We don’t have a star player but we have everything else which is more than enough to be a top 5-7 SEC team. I said 11 SEC wins when I saw the finalized Roster and that should’ve been achieved when you think of the close games to weak teams we dropped by not closing out games.

Haven’t made the NIT yet but playing in the tournament would be celebrated. far cry from from all the street ball we used to play and NCAA tournaments we used to make.. I guess this is better though??

Would you miserable Wade counts grow the frick up and shut the frick up for once? It’s over. He’s gone. Either pull for LSU or get the frick out. This shite is old.

We’re pretty good at wing and at the forward position, but we have the worst guard situation in the SEC and the worst interior defensive talent in the SEC.

If you want to blame that on McMahon fine, but saying we have the talent to be top 1/3 of the SEC is absurd when no one on your team can dribble the ball and your interior defense is Will baker and Hunter Dean.

I said 5-7 not top 3 and the reason we’re thin at guard is because of injuries and a suspension which just happened. Up until this week we had 3 capable point guards and 5 guys who could initiate offense. Our defense is bad because we’re poorly coached. Being in good position to guard someone or to hedge doesn’t require superstar talent, it’s either taught or it isn’t.

Lmfaoo Jalen Cook hasn’t played since Feb 13th and you know Mike Williams isn’t really a capable point guard. That’s disingenuous as frick

Well we’re tied for 7th and Florida in 6th is 11-7. So you’re saying this team had the on paper talent to easily be 12-6 which is ridiculous.

Who are the capable point guards? Mike Williams had a perfectly serviceable freshman year but wouldn’t sniff the court on any of the top tier SEC teams. Jalen Cook barely played bc of transfer rules/injury/shitty attitude. Trae Hannibal hustles his arse off and is a very easy player to root for but it’s 2024 and he literally cannot shoot the basketball.

As for defense, at a certain point you can’t do that much to defend a well run pick and roll if your big man defender moves like they have their feet in molasses. And I like Dean and baker. But Kavell bigby Williams and Naz Reid they are not.

We lost a scholarship this year and next. Losing 1/13 roster spots is a big deal

These people are so fricking retarded and disingenuous. Even Will Wade acknowledged that LSU made the right decision based on all of the information. Which means based on all of the information at the time there was uncertainty and it was hard to recruit.

A good coach would’ve won 11 games with this roster. I’m not going to argue with you bashing the players, I’ll only say it actually takes talent to score like we do so that’s irrefutable. On defense there are plenty of teams with slow bigs defending the pick and roll very well using drop coverage. Of over 12,000 pick and roll plays in CBB this season, the lowest scoring % on that play is when the PG takes the shot which is why most college teams are playing drop coverage right now. So this excuse about the slow bigs holds no water.
