yeah, that is one correct way of pronouncing it, just people from Arkansas aren't educated that far.

check out Webster's. Arkansas is pronounced both ways dude!! Only problem is you listen only ONE way.

whatever it probably just breaks it down like that-- Arkansas was a state several years before Kansas was -- it is not the Ar-Kansas river that flows through Kansas. The Indians pronounced it Arkansaw and that is they way you say it even though it is spelled Arkansas.

We did not even have a coach and that Missouri team was just 1 in a 100 teams for them. Afterwards, our AD tried to schedule a year in and year out contest with them and they declined -- that is why we went with Texas A&M on the schedule through like 2012.
