He is getting outplayed by both Q and JP.

I would not mind him coming off the bench. Notice he sat the bench the final 5-6 min of the game.

He's not the Chris Jackson that he thinks he is.

Could? How about SHOULD for this team. Until he realizes he's not as good as he thinks he is TQ is your primary ballhandler with Patterson right behind him. This team already has issues with basketball IQ. They can't afford his poor ball security

patterson should get his minutes. As stated his IQ is a huge issue.

He has excellent skills but makes bad (stupid) decisions. He needs to pass the ball quickly, watch Ben Simmons.

That's what is frustrating. You see flashes with this guy and he shows incredible talent; he could be really special. Then, he does something that just leaves you scratching your head. In the A&M game, I saw one sequence where he made 3 mistakes in about 6 seconds, made a bad break, got WAY out of position, overcompensated and fouled.
If he gets it together and learns, I really like this kid, but he has a lot of work to do.

Until he starts handling the rock like it's the piece of gold or the sack of diamonds that it is, and it is not to be given away, he can't see the floor. Dude has been a turnover machine as of late. Let's hope the light bulb turns on because we will need him.

A lot less playin time may get him to be more careful. Coach was all over him one time for sure. I can see his time diminishing until he can keep his head screwed on.

Patterson right behind him

I am impressed with this kid... Gray plays out of control too much.

His first two turnovers he had safety valve wide open down the court on the press and instead tries both times to dribble between two defenders...turnover both times. Maddening.

Not really. He struggles to handle the ball in traffic and he makes bad decisions.

Ball handling is the first priority for a point guard. It seems to be the worst part of his game. I haven't seen any of his highlights from juco but obviously someone else was bringing it up the court and he was just jacking it up.

Gray needs to concentrate on academics and be sure to get his degree.

He made all freshman team at Texas Tech as a point gaurd. Ave 3 assist a game. He is just in a slump. He us use to being the man on his teams. He is working on it and focused on the goal. He brings a lot of character to this team and works very hard. He over plays the game. I told him to play the game and not for just the big play.

I really think now he might be best coming off the bench as the 2-guard and let Quarterman/Patterson handle the 1.

He's a natural scorer and when you force him to run the offense/handle the ball so much I think he just thinks too much about trying to get everyone involved and it leads to turnovers.

It is apparent that JG has not taken care of the ball and made far too many careless mistakes resulting in turnovers.Lets hope this young man matures and learns from his mistakes and improves to be a formidable player just like TQ did from last year to this year.I try not to get angry at his careless play remembering he certainly has a desire to help his team.He needs encouragement not immature LSU students embarrassing him with mean chants.

Making poor decisions when the the time/situation is in their favor. They had a 9 point lead against A&M with 10 minutes to go and started shooting and missing 3's early in the shot clock. On multiple occasions this year they have had a lead late and continued to try to run, leading to a TO, when the smarter play would be to pull the ball out and run clock (Though there was a HUGE improvement in that area last nigh, TQ still turned the ball over late trying to run with at 10 point lead when UF was going to let LSU run clock). There have been more than a few occasions where LSU had a comfortable lead late and the opponent was willing to let LSU run clock. Instead, they take and miss a 3 10 seconds into the shot clock (This happened against Gardner-Webb and SHSU).
