Yes, of course.
Covid caused LSU to go 5-5 last year, because it affected only the Tiger football program.

You're 100% correct. I'm sure there were a few people with extra chromosomes who thought paying a guy getting his arse kicked in 1-AA $2.3MM/year was a brilliant idea.

If he really feels this way then the 4D level chess move for Woody would be to hold some Coach O Title IX stuff in reserve until the next time he loses a game or two he shouldn't a viola, fired with cause.

Then he better get his arse back in a classroom. No major university is hiring a president with only a bachelors degree. I don't care how notorious the state may be for cronyism, that just isn't happening.

It wouldn't be surprising. Winning a national championship will buy anyone time but last year was just a sad clusterfrick for O

His team goes 5-5
He gets caught with a semi nude photo that gets blasted all over the internet
LSU is under a whole Title IX mess
He hires Pelini without ever interviewing him. Admits it publicly and LSU ends up having the worst defense in probably over 20 yrs
He hires an old dinosaur from the nfl that wasn't a fit at all
He hires an Oline coach that doesn't even know how to cheat properly

He would be so much better if he kept his mouth shut. He just rambles like an idiot saying things that don't need to be made public. Like another example telling everyone publicly Jones was like his 4th option at DC this off-season. I mean lol man

Lol no.

If Woodward is dumb enough to hold something like that back to protect a coach he’s the dumbest SOB on the planet.

No way in hell he could risk holding onto something like that in this climate. If it got out before he was ready he would be ran out of athletics all together.

You forgot about going on the radio and naming a defensive coordintor as his guy that later turned him down. He doesn't get it. Never did and never will.

Not surprising, Scott runs a classy operation and is trying to rehab and turn around the imagine of LSU sports as a whole. Doesn’t help the situation when the most visible head coach is showing up in bedroom photos with a random girl and trudging along shirtless out in public.

He will let O make his own bed though, hence this last round of coordinator hires. After that there’s not much rope left.

Moscona said that more noise will be made about O and title 9 issues right before the season kicks off.
Could ruin a chance at a good year.

I want O to succeed as much as anyone, but the revamping of a failed staff is done. This is his last chance to get it right. The only way he should be replacing coordinators going forward is if they are doing well and getting promotions elsewhere.

Coach O seemed off yesterday at media day. Like he wasn’t prepared and didn’t really want to be there. It was weird

This entire thread reeks of people who think they know more than they do. Jordy included. Just like all of us, he had zero problems with O in February of ‘20. No one’s being reductionist when the first criticism of O in the post is running with his shirt off. That’s a non-issue; it’s summer in one of the hottest states in the nation.

Sure the pic with ol girl was not a great leak, and it’s just kind of a trashy situation. And yeah, Ed talks way too openly about how he mishandled the Pelini situation. But O is on Woodward’s resumé whether he “likes” it or not. Woodward gave O the raise and extension. If Woodward thinks he can hire someone better, he’ll have to eat the fact that he gave this shirtless running guy a raise.

The reality of the situation is guaranteed to be a lot more complex than what everyone on this board is making of it, Jordy included. There are millions of dollars tied up in this personnel, and Woodward assuredly has praise and complaints for different aspects. Let the people who do this for a living work out the kinks instead of lambasting a coach for perceived transgressions. Title IX investigation is the most complex thing here, and no one here currently knows that status of that.
