So, I was thinking today....

Jordan Jefferson and Terrelle Pryor have both been on college football teams for the same amount of time. The reasoning that Miles has used for not playing JJ has been that he doesn't yet know the system. Yes TP has been starting for for most of the year, and not doing too bad.

So what gives?

Does Terrelle Pryor's abundance of talent make him more able to learn the playbook quickly?

Is TP "smarter" than JJ?

Is it because TP got plenty of snaps from day 1 and JJ didn't?

Is it because LSU's playbook is much more complicated than OSUs? Is OSU dumbing down it's playbook for TP, but Crowton isn't willing to do that for JJ?

Just wondering...what does everyone think? I don't know much about offensive playbooks and the difficulty of learning them.

FWIW, I don't think JJ should be starting over JL (who has been in the system and knows the offense better...even though he's not executing it perfectly), but I DO think JJ should be getting significant PT NOW.

So you think JJ could have been starting at OSU and be 7-2 with losses only to 2 top 10 teams?

I mean, i know the Big 10 is a fricking joke, but is that the only difference?

I don't think the SEC West is too far ahead of the Big 10+1. In fact tOSU might be playing in the SEC Championship if they were located in Arkansas, instead of Ohio.

Pryor is a better runner and is lightyears ahead of anybody else they have at QB. JJ has some slight problems with his throwing motion and is either equal to or less ready to play compared to Lee, with less knowledge of plays.

competition and OSU runs a fairly simple offense.

Bil lil eleven is very slow. You stick in a good running qb and one who break some tackles with a talented oline and running back and you win all you big 10 games.

ohio state has a very, very watered down offense because of pryor.

I mean, if you have a good running QB and a talented RB and o-line, you could probably win all games in any conference.

JJ was 3rd string behind Hatch and Lee. JJ was also going to get a medical RS until Hatch was injured.

Not sure, but JJ's level of competition was way above TT's. 5-A River Parish vs 2A Pennnsylvannia is a no brainer. But, from what I have seen of TT he is probably faster and more mature as a player than JJ.

TP was the number 1 rated player in the country. JJ was a three star until late in the year. I mean I know the stars don't mean that much, but com' on. Terrelle pryor is way more developed coming into college.

What does this have to do with learning a playbook?

Nothing dude, but if the guy is just supremely gifted and developed it is easier to put him out there on the field.

I doubt terrelle pryor knows that much of the playbook. He looks at one reciever then runs.
