This is the scariest thing to me:

Jefferson has played worse in the 2nd half of every game he's played in. That is not the sign of a good football player.

How do you play 3 #1 teams? Oh yeah, I remember now, you take a snapshot in time whether correct rating or not, huh? Tell me, when anyone played Ole Miss at #4 do you consider Ole Miss the 4th best team in the nation?

What would the stats look like if you took off 50 yds of passing offense per interception?

JLees stats would have been improved with some hustle and tackles from teammates

JJs stats cannot be improved, and everyone is trying

Thought Florida should have replaced Tebow. 13 points is a disgrace for a #1 ranked team.

Also, with this year's defensive performance, even with the 16 INTs and 6 or 7 pick sixes, we only lose 3 games at most last year. We likely would have only lost 2 of those games.

So, we would have won 10-11 games last year in spite of Lee's tendency to throw pick sixes, but our defense was woeful.

We're comparing a freshman to a sophomore? Lee was slung in there after RP was kicked off and Hatch was destroyed. He should have been more prepared, but around July of last year, did he think he would even get a snap?

Now on the other hand, JJ has had minor PT last year, and an ENTIRE off-season to prepare. Still nothing. He also is showing absolutely no signs of improving either.

Can we at least SEE if JL has improved? I wonder Lee is even allowed to look at a football on the sideline?

This is the best point of all. Everyone forgets the situation JL was thrown into because of RP. Through 5 games last year JL was sacked only 3 times and through the Georgia game JJ had been sacked 13 times. It can't all be offensive line play. No QB in the country can take a 10 step drop and expect to hold the ball for 4-5 seconds without a DL getting to him off the edge.

Just watch them warm up before the game. The receivers line up and run streaks with nobody defending. Lee puts every ball on the money (like any decent quarterback should with nobody covering). Jefferson missed 6 receivers and numerous times they had to stop and come back for the ball.

the offense definitely scored more points last year, but those acting like it's all jefferson's fault such as specs are dumb.

possibly...although once we fell behind by two scores not as much. Lee has probably been getting very few reps in practice and throwing him in cold would've just been a random roll of the dice.

with the 2 week break it will be interesting to see if this is looked at. However, you're really risking a lot if you start trying to use the "hot hand" strategy after losing to the #1 D in football.

I have been preety supportive of JJ, but I think we need to see Lee against Auburn....at least in the second half.

its a new year. He's a year older. Players get better.

Maybe or maybe not. If Lee's play (spring and fall pratice) was that much better wouldn't you start him? Lee's supporters will say he had a crummy defense causing him to throw more. JJ's supporters will say he has a crummy O-line causing him to get sacked more.

And as far as JJ's play against UF remember they had 11 return starters on defense.

we had this talk last night

Lee definately deserves some snaps. Last year, despite the pick 6's and the 5 losses, we scored points. We had a god awful defense, but we scored points. This year, our defense is excellent. Id say the defense has come a long long way and looks like a top 10 defense. Even if Lee is a risk with the picks they wont be as damaging. Last year, he throws a pick, the opponent scores. This year, he throws a pick, our D would get some stops.

I hate being the guy that vouches for the backup, but when your offense puts up 160 yards of offense...something has to change.

which is about 99% of posters. Maybe its time to realize you've looked dumb in defending the guy. He's inept.

The only reason ppl wanted him is he protects the ball, yet 1 int and 1 fumble later and.... Toss in the sacks, the negative rushing yds, and the joke of an option and you've got nothing

JJ has been struggling and slow in making decisions when to throw ---> sacked. I think Miles should adopt the struggling baseball pitcher's strategy: get a new quarterback in, whether it's JL or Shep, for a series or so to see if the offense could do better.

Lee threw a lot of picks but we generally lost games due to a really bad defense last year. I say we need to play him now. He is better than JJ.

I thought before the season that at some point Lee would become our starting QB I think I was right.

Miles didn't have near enough political capital with the fans to start Lee over JJ after the Peach Bowl...regardless of how practice went.
