We definitely played better in second half, but especially defensively. The first half still included Houston dribble drives when they wanted them. Second half locked this down and Reath was able to intimidate any guards making it through the perimeter D. Team was moving more on the offensive end in the second half.

I refuse to get my hopes up as JJ teams have disappointed me with their Jekyl and Hyde performances too many times. The team needs to go undefeated the rest of the way before SEC play begins. Jenkins needs to get healthy with the remainder of the team staying healthy. No new suspensions after fall grades come in. This is definitely the deepest team that JJ has had, but time will tell whether coaching, youth, and SEC inexperience will catch up to them.

I honestly have no clue what this team is gonna do this year . Honestly there so hard to get a read on . They seem similar to last year though . Live and die by the three ball , play defense 1/3 time . Hate to be negative but it's the hard truth .

I'm totally dismayed with Johnny Jones and I think he's a terrible coach. I'll wait and see how the season plays out before giving JJ any props.

Lack of tourney appearances along with last year's finish and Johnny totally losing control of the team should have gotten him fired.

You dont get fired from a non basketball school for finishing 3rd in your conference.

Houston was favored because lsu looked over matched vs wichita.

Glad they accepted the challenge instead of folding.

A big piece of coaching is what happens after a bad loss.

I concur, LSU doesn't give a rat's arse about basketball. So we'll be stuck with Johnny Jones and never seeing LSU's name on a madness bracket.

You probably didnt even know we finished 3rd in the conference. If we replace those bad losses early in the season with losses to better teams then we make the tourney last year.

So if last year wasn't what it was it would have been a good year. Got it. Let's not pretend that Jones is anything better than mediocre on his very, very best days. The guy is just straight up not a good coach. Last night was a good win, but it doesn't change anything.

Gotcha..."If" we don't play shitty like we do a lot, then we go to the dance...Should be an easy fix under Johnny's leadership.

Randy Livingston probably doing work. He knows basketball

I believe so, he was the head coach of NBA Development team Idaho Stampede 2010-2012. I really hope that soon Randy Livingston will become our LSU Basketball Head Coach!!!

Darryl,

I've given you a lot of shite about JJ, but I'm crossing the isle on this issue.

I DO NOT want Joe making another hire while he's athletic director.

JA is incompetent so I'm behind JJ until we get rid of this PUTZ AD. Maybe JJ can catch lighntning in a bottle.

Maybe Daddy Dale & Collis Jr. can input their knowledge & help into our next basketball coach if they're still alive when Johnny retires.

Who ever that dude is on the radio 104.5 in the afternoons, totally hates LSU Basketball.

To listen to him LSU has never done anything and never will, it's like he considers them a title 9 sport.

iirc his comment yesterday was LSU plays Houston tonight in the P-Mac. The best thing that can be said about that is we wont have to see them again until Dec 13th.

Me either G and I think the inconsistency under CJJ since he's been is one of the reasons it is hard to read.

Reath is significantly better than I thought he'd be but I did see him miss 5 layups in the first 5 minuntes of the second half against Wichita.

I think there is some talent, but not enough depth to overcome the inconsistencies they will inevitably see IMHO due to what CJJ's teams always seem to be....inconsistent...mostly due to the same thing I always come back to...accountability.

It means we need to schedule better. We had enough quality wins last year to make the tourney. Bad losses killed our RPI.
