With Coach Brown, Coach Brady, Shaquille O'Neal and Daddy Temple pushing for him to get the job. It seems like JJ will be our next Head Coach.

How is he as for as recruiting goes?

I agree. And he coaches in the Sun Belt...can't imagine his recruiting is overly impressive.

Hopefully Gerry Dinardo has input in our next football coaching search

Not nicknamed "The Bagman" for nothing.

I'm sure a reference from JB carries tons of weight. Wouldn't want to piss him off.

If this is the case, then technically we could have hired a monkey to be athletic director. Or maybe a nice plant, perhaps a Ficus or something of the sort, because he sure as hell wouldnt have made this decision. If alleva allows the pressure from former players/coaches make his decision, then he isn't doing his job. Hiring a former coach directly implicated in NCAA sanctions, recommended by a coach involved in those same sanctions is absurd.

I don't care...I am not thinking it is a bad hire...he has had decent success at a small school, and has strong ties to the school as a player and asst coach...don't know why people are panicking.

That is funny!

Although I would not compare Dinardo to Dale Brown. A more acurate comparison would be Cholly Mac, albeit less funny. But I get your point. I don't think ex-coaches and players should be able to dictate who's the best candidate.

I think most are just curious why we part ways with TJ and go for someone with a less impressive resume than him.

this, from all indications, seems to be a real possibility. he has the pedigree, the connections and if JA decides he is our best option...then so be it. does he have solid head coaching experience....is he charismatic....can he recruit the talent that can challenge UK and still maintain ncaa mandated grad rates? yes....don't know....only time will tell. if he gets the job, I suggest we all try to give the man the support that the rebuilding process is going to demand.

I'm indifferent on Jones...fans are setting themselves up for disappointment if they are expecting a "big splash."

Rudy Macklin endorsed J.Jones in todays paper too. Don't leave him out. I love, love, love LSU. I bleed P.& G., but, we need a name coach ,not a beloved ex-player, or we'll be 15-15 every year and 3 years from now we'll be saying ,we love our old players, but, not as an SEC head coach.
