Kentucky did the same thing with any team that has played them close. Does Billy Donavan need to do a better job of gaining control? They fell apart down the stretch too.

Every player in their first 8 would start for LSU easily. It was talent that cost us the game, just like it has everybody else that played Kentucky.

I bet you are one of those morons that think Trent Johnson is still a "good coach."

Don't know where you're getting that - I recently posted that Trent Johnson is an awful coach. JJ is clearly a big improvement over Trent.

I'm simply saying that, unlike football, basketball teams can be turned around very quickly. Good basketball coaches don't need 5 years to accomplish that.

Yes, I realize we're not deep and our starters play a lot of minutes. I also realize this isn't ideal and there may be times where our guys' legs get heavy.

But let's be real here - these are 20 year olds playing a 30 games season. This isn't the NBA, with grown men playing an 82 game schedule. The "grind" is just a lot less on college players.

I'd also like to give our guys more rest than they're getting now, and I acknowledge that it might be somewhat of a factor in certain games, but for the most part, young guys who are in "basketball shape" can suck it up.

Next year is year 4 for CJJ and we will be a preseason top 15 team regardless whether Martin and Mickey come back. But please continue to try and blame the lack of depth on CJJ when he was handed a dumpster fire of a roster when he got the job and has only had two recruiting classes to fix.

Average gameday coach, great recruiter. Might sound familiar because it probably is.

Which game? I have watched every game. We looked great last night. But watching the focus and intensity last night, makes some of the other games that frustrating. Some of the turnovers and lack of set pieces out of timeouts from prior games is inexcusable. I dont see how anyone can watch the season we have had and say Jones is a good coach come gameday. However, if he can keep recruiting like he had it will be fine. LSU will be a program most likely where top 20 to top 15 is our ceiling. It will be almost impossible for us to get a coach that can both recruit and coach x's and o's here

Sorry, but you are going to lose this argument.

If our guys were better than Kentucky's, then you could make a case that our six could outlast their 10. But their guys are equal/better than ours.

Recruiting is essential at this level. Coaching isnt all that hard when you have the talent a major cbb brand such as Kentucky has. CJJ doesnt have mind control over our guys he can't make them be as excited playing mizzou compared to Kentucky. Thats within the players. Also i saw plenty of adjustments made in a three day period, we could inbound, not near as many turnovers, we didnt settle for the 3pt every time. It was a good game. On top of that i retract my retarded statement, that wasnt warranted

ok, but just tell me when I CAN properly blame JJ for a lack of depth. (Serious question).

Next year?
The year after?
The year after that?

Not trying to be a smart arse, I just want to know at what point you think it's fair to hold a coach accountable for a lack of quality depth on his roster.

Serious question, have you even looked at our current roster and seen our recruiting class? I only ask this because if you have seen our recruiting class for next year then you would know that we will not have depth issues next season. We have one senior who doesn't even play. We will have too many backcourt players and not enough minutes to give them. Ben Simmons can play the 1 through 4 positions so him and Victor will boost our frontcourt. If either/or Martin and Mickey stay and/or Darcy and Elbert improve it is absolutely scary the amount of depth we will have.

During the last time out, Johnny and Charlie talk by themselves while the players stare into space. With 5 seconds left Johnny tells Charlie to tell the players the play. He hastily scribbles the play as the buzzer is going off with no time for the players to even digest it. We run a sloppy play where some players look confused and get a crappy shot off.

This is just the last in a long line of late game problems.

Anyone defending CJJ as a good game day coach hasn't been an active supporter of the program. In his defense he has taken baby steps in the right direction, but he's still an average coach at best. FTR, I support him because of his recruiting abilities. That's 90% of the battle. I trust in his direction.

You cannot refute the fact that this team had March written all over them and we will be sitting on our couches. What you witnessed last night was pure heart. That's why you have to love sports.
