Good news per 247 saying John Udoh has made it to campus.
Great for him to get his feet wet with the program for the remainder of the season.
He still has two years to play two starting next year

John Odo.
And his arrival will greatly help the development of our bigs in practice, as well as allow him to develop chemistry with the guys he'll be playing with next season.

No, he will play next season.

This is his "redshirt" season" if Im not mistaken. It will be great for practice for JOB to go up against a 6'10" with some kind of agility.
I hope he is able to sit on the bench with the team and get a feel for the games. Would be beneficial in his growth. He will be ready for the experience when he gets to play next season.

It said he "is enrolled". Could be intersession. Could be that he is signed up for classes and such. Not sure.

hopefully he's fully enrolled and starts practice.

You have to think that this will be very beneficial to the development of all of our big men.

In one way I sort of wish he could play now. I guess if we aren't making a real run there's no reason to burn a year of eligibility...

No reason to waste him this year. This isn't a tournament team really at all, especially with Hickey being so wishy-washy. Next year is when we will have a fully loaded roster for the first time in years and loaded with some legit talent.
I thought JOB III would be leaving for the NBA after this year but so far it definitely seems like he needs to develop his game more. I think at best he's a 2nd round pick right now.

that's what I just said I'm in win now mode, however, I don't think this team has the pieces quite yet to win big anyway

Odo, a University of North Texas commit, led the nation in rebounds per game with 14.3 and was second in the nation with 136 blocks. He was also named NTJCAC Player of the Year and named to the NJCAA Region V All-Region Team.
“Odo is not only a fantastic player, but a good student as well,” said Runnin' Rebels' Head Coach Swede Trenkle.
After reading that, I wish he could play tonight!

Eh, we could probably beat Houston Baptist with the 3 walk ons, Tuba and Coleman playing.

I think he'll be a great complement to O'Byrant who is more a finesse post player.

I know we are one of his finalists but do we have a legit shot to land him?

I think his finalists are Zona, SMU, A&M, and LSU. With a good season we should look more attractive than SMU and A&M. Arizona has one SG in their class this year but Frazier is much more highly regarded than that kid. They took a 4* SG last year and a 5* the year before but I dunno anything about them or if that would even play into his decision.
