This is terribly poor judgement on Orgeron’s part. He must stay out of politics or find another coaching position.

Regardless of political beliefs it’s right to do so. If that changes some in the fan base, if he should be our coach, that’s sad. Also, Saban did a commercial some a Democrat in West Virginia and nobody cares why? He wins! Orgeron wins on Saban a level even bleeding heart Republicans wouldn’t even bat an eye!

What a bunch a little sissy cry baby’s in here. This is nothing but a bunch of O haters trying to stir up more hate for someone you despise. You people really have something wrong with your heads. I seriously doubt that O has many if any of the same political view points. I’m sure O also knows that this won’t matter any in a week or two. His job is to win ball games not win elections for anyone. I’m sure he would make an appearance for anyone dem or rep. Why does this matter to anyone? He can vote for whom ever he wants anyway. There are still tons of what they call independent voters also. People who don’t give a damn what colors you wear or represent as long as you do what’s best for the people in their part of the country.

There are also many republican and democratic friends outside of politics. It’s all money driven, power driven view points and it was at one time just as corrupt on either side until Trump was elected and he was mainly elected to clean that shite up. He’s done that in his short time but there’s still much more sickness to get rid of.

I like Kennedy but this wasn’t necessary.

Employees, including football coaches, of state institutitions should not be doing this sort of thing g at all. Regardless or party affiliation

Employees of state institutions are also subject to the US Constitution and therefore enjoy free speech. It is un-American to think they should NOT be able to support political candidates.

Nick Saban is a well known friend and supporter of WV senator Joe Manchin.

All things being equal I'd prefer my coaches stay out of politics, but this isn't a big deal to me. And Kennedy would have been talking out of the other side of his mouth if O or another popular LSU figure had been at his event instead. As would some of the posters who ate incensed about this situation.

The fact that Senator Kennedy even think he could find himself looking at LSU coach and wondering if he’s Dem or Republican is one of the biggest issues with our country today: we far too often define things along party lines.

As a active duty military member that is depressing to hear. I fight to defend All Americans regardless of their political party. Doesn’t matter that the man or woman next to me in the service is a D or R.

Coach O political affiliation shouldn’t matter. Only time a person political affiliation should come to mind is during policy debates.

Exactly why coaches should stay out of these things.

Slightly off topic. When I was around 11 years old, I remember my stepdad telling me how corrupt the LSU football program was and how the governor gets his boys to LSU. I was confused. I was wondering how in the world does the governor of the state and the LSU football team have any connection ? I thought my dad was drunk. He did drink 3 quarts of Miller Lite beer.

I guess when you grow up you learn how politics involve everything from getting into college to getting that first government job to figuring what woman you have a shot to marry.

They never taught those lessons in HS.
