I really like this, he's actually got a lot of good insight when you talk to him about hoops, he was just an a-hole as a mediocre coach

I think Brady would be good as the radio analyst. The issue is that you have your former coach in the position of (at times) second-guessing your current coach. I'm certain LSU discussed this with Wade prior to hiring Brady and Wade is completely ok with it.
It would be a bit like Texas hiring Rick Barnes to be thier radio analyst. Barnes was eventually run out of Texas. But he did have some very good years there and Smart has yet to make any kind of real mark at UT. By the end of the Jones tenure you had some wishing for the Brady days. I think Brady will be neutral as he can be. But it's human nature during a game to think/discuss what you would have done in certain situations and it would be coming from a guy who WAS in that situation.

I'm sure Will Wade is ok with it, but I could see some coaches not liking a former coach being critical of them in their inaugural season. Also, for as much as the athletic staff hated dealing with the guy, I wonder how they feel about their media partner bringing him back around. Cullotta doin' work. Him and the prince do a helluva job gettin' their boys jobs.

agreed, if Wade had directly replaced Brady. But we're now 3 coaches removed from Brady, so this shouldn't be a problem.

True. But Brady is the last LSU coach to have real success. Look, I think Wade will do great things. But right now he doesn't have any Final Four appearances or SEC championships. Now he will be critiqued by a guy who accomplished that essentially standing in Wade's shoes.
If this were year 4 or 5 of the Wade era and he had things rocking, including conf. championships and possibly Final Four appearances I say "who cares"? Wade has exceeded John Brady's success. But to bring Brady on board before a young coach in Wade even coaches a game seems to be a curious decision.
Brady will have good insight. But it's always natural to compare current coaches at a school to former coaches at that school.
