We've all been there--you catch yourself every now and then thinking "holy shite, I'm not hallucinating, we went 15-0 and rocked CFB."

I had one of those moments today, but with Burreaux's Heisman night: largest percentage of 1st place votes, named on more ballots, and largest margin of victory.

We all remember the outlier here is OJ Simpson, who has the most points and first place votes of all-time. The only reason he still holds these records is because there were more Heisman votes available that year.

In 1968, OJ got 80.6% of the total points available

In 2019, Burreaux got 93.8%, also a record.

Just, wow.

To me, the most impressive record that night was the margin of victory: he curb stomped Chase Young, Jalen Hurts, and Justin Fields. These guys truly had Heisman-worthy seasons themselves and were exceptionally dominant. Yet Joe Burrow's season towered over them in record-breaking fashion.

There is never anything that is a sure thing but going into the award night I told myself that he had no wobbles, no bad games, no character issues, and he left no doubt when he dismantled Bama and UGA. My only fear was that he was not from a East Coast media favorite place...

They were clamoring over Young, Fields, Hurts, and Tua.

Before November, Burrow was a foot-note. It was all about those four and "oh and btw, LSU scored 40 points again."

Looking back, it's ridiculous to think that Young's suspension or Tua's injury would've changed the Heisman race when the ballots were due.

He flew under the radar. While the media put him as the front-runner after the November games, his Heisman campaign began on his first drive of the season.

It was such a magical season. Brought my family to the Florida Game. Absolutely incredible atmosphere. If it had ended with the win in Tusky, I would’ve been completely satisfied, but it just kept getting better and better!

The Florida game looked electric on tv I can’t imagine what it was like in the stadium.

I went into the office this morning and was thinking about the season as well. Ended up watching highlights of burrow, Jefferson and Chase. With the awesome vids and the rap music bumping, shite had me hype!

So glad I got to be a part of that ride. To cap it off in the dome was simply amazing.

I missed the Florida game because of a fricking wedding! (Can’t stand people getting married on saturdays in the fall) but got to go to the Auburn game and it was ELECTRIC AF! Man what a day I will never forget. That Clyde Drive was so memorable for that game.

Ive been to some amazing games in Tiger Stadium. There have been louder roars possibly, but as far as start to finish electricity in the air that just never let up the whole time... that game was tops. From the moment we walked in you could feel it and it never quit. Not sure if it was shown on TV, but there was a military sky dive team that parachuted into the stadium and that got everyone amped up. I even texted a buddy and said “if LSU loses tonight, it won’t because of lack of intensity from the crowd” Everyone was on their feet from pregame until the outcome was no longer in doubt. I’ll never forget that game.
