I don't think there is enough appreciation for what Clyde contributed to that team in this thread.

Dude played with the heart of a giant and so far beyond his size. He extended a lot of drives for that team.

Loved watching him hit the line and trying to guess where he will pop out on the other side. RUN CLYDE RUN!!!

And his ability to shed off open field tackles was just fun to watch. His performance in the Bama game.... just WOW!!!

I love seeing Alabama fans say that Bryce shouldn’t go to Houston bc they stink so bad. Well if Bryce is that good he’ll turn them around like Joe did in Cincinnati

Stop. Houston is far worse than Cincy was Burrows rookie year.

Years later, we can probably say Burrow was far and away most responsible for 2019. Far and away.

Burrow had a year without Brady. He was a solid, but different Burrow. It was a 50/50 marriage. QBs (no matter who they are), need a great OC (with a good system), solid OL, run game, and a decent Defense. Take away either, and the QB trajectory changes. Burrow at Texas, makes Texas better, but not a contender.

He will be an NFL HOFer. One of the most accurate passers to ever play.

Burrow was only here for like 6 weeks before that season, GTFO. At the end of 2018 you saw what Burrow was.

Every sports show this morning is going bonkers about him. The whole Get Up panel was just dumbfounded at how great he is.

Incredible to see.

ETA: Orlovsky (paraphrasing): "What Pat Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, and Lamar Jackson can do--you can't teach that. Everything Joe Burrow does, you can...but he's the only one who does it."

That's the common perception in Michigan where I live. Joe Burrow is just a very special talent and he had all-world receivers with him in 2019.

Will forever be a supporter of the Bengals as long as Burrow is their starting QB

I don't think I agree with this. It isn't that easy.

"Than Cincy was Burrow's rookie year"? How about the year before? Cincy won like 3 games, the reason they had the #1 pick. And the Bengals owner is considered one of the cheapest in the League, if not the cheapest. It can easily be said that the improvement in the team in his first year was, by far, due to JB. Chase didn't come till his second season.

From 2019

Anyone who thought after watching the 2019 college football season that Joe wouldn’t be highly successful in the NFL was just being dumb.

He did what he did that year while competing in the best football conference in the country against the some of the best players/coaches in the country.

My only concern when Joe got drafted was with Cincinnati and their extremely poor history of success but never with his ability.

Yep. He had to carry the offensive load passing the ball in conditions that really weren’t conducive to that and that they don’t play in as often. And he just went out and played remarkably consistent the entire game. He didn’t seem fazed at all by the stage or the conditions.

Not edited, Just wanted to see this posted again. Because it’s awesome.

The deal with Brady is, there's a large number of guys in the game who could have done what he did that year (a lot probably nobody here has even heard of), but that team wasn't doing anything like they did that year without a guy like him actually coming in to do it.

Ensminger wasn't going to shake things up enough without the type of kick in the rear brining in a guy like Brady could do.

This seems kinda racist.
