I hope he doesn't make it on an NFL roster. Not because I don't like him, which I don't, but because of what it will mean about our coaching staff. If that kid actually does have NFL ability, and our coaches couldn't get any more out of him than they did for four freaking years, we'd have to have the worst offensive coaching staff in history. I'd like to believe we don't. JJ on an NFL roster on opening day 2012 would make that impossible.

Don't forget JJ also called out the people who have been most loyal to him in the LSU coaches. Lee has passed on every opportunity to do this. If he makes a roster that will be as far as it goes. He won't suddenly be a good QB with a quick release.

JJ will not be drafted, but will be invited to join an NFL team on Dec. 21, 2012. By the way...that is when the Mayan calendar ends.

Doesn't seem like the best decision on his part.
FWIW it's pathetic how many of you– presumably grown arse men— are so filled with hatred for a 21 year old who tried his best for 4 years to play QB at your school and is now hoping to make a career for himself. Get some fricking perspective.
I just don't understand the loathing for a student athlete or anyone on your team team that didn't...oh I don't know, assault your wife, daughter, or mother.

You really can't understand why a player who is portrayed as one of the leaders of the offense and is one of the best known players would be disliked if he comes across as selfish?
You think someone like that should just blindly be praised as a great representative of the university?

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. About Updyke, yeah, I think it should be pointed out that many (saw it with my own eyes) openly embrace a man would steal illegal poisons and destroy a historical landmark and potentially put the general public at risk.
HATING and wishing failure on our QB is also pretty pathetic.
