But have you guys prepared yourselves for a possible scenerio where Lee plays and our offense is still really, really bad?

I would rather know that Lee absolutely cannot make the passing game better in 2010 than continue this struggle of an offense.

Lee needs to get his time... but Miles absolutely will not make a change while we are undefeated. I don't want to trade a loss for Lee, but realistically we are going to lose at some point.

It's never going to be necessarily the fact that the other guy's doing poorly.

What ever happened to winning a spot........

J. Lee you may need to transfer you have to much class to play for an arse like Les...

J. Lee could have GREAT week of practice...

...and it would not matter since Les has already decided on JJ...

Yes, I can deal with it. Then we just lower our expectations and face reality.

I have a hard time believing that we would swing and miss on recruiting both of these guy and that neither of these QB can be decent.

At that point, its more likely our coaching/player development, or lack there of.

Can someone translate this

On the option play:

"We picked up 1st downs in several opportunities in Saturday's game. I guess any play that's three or four yards is certainly a positive. Anything in excessive of three or four yards would have to be based on the criteria of the need of first down."

If you average 3.4 per play, that's a first down every time. That is just some logic I'm applying to his comment. I'm not sure there is much logic in his quote.

if JLee gets a start or significant time, he will look bad. there's little question on that. the Hat & GC will make sure that is the case. remember the game plan for Lolly Polly? we did JLee no favors. our coaches don't understand out players strengths or how to accentuate them in the play calling. i have no doubt what you are saying is true.

Is this an unintentional admission that JJ is doing poorly? Its a fact he says!

he prolly doesnt even realize he said it!

If JJ is playing, take the points and bet the house. Tn has a good chance to win straight up with JJ at QB.

I don't have a problem with JJ starting as long as Lee gets some meaningful time as well. Unfortunately, I believe Miles will wait until its too late to make a switch.

The only way Jarrett Lee will start another game at LSU or see meaningful playing time is if Jefferson gets hurt and is knocked out of action. Miles has already shown there is no other way possible for it to happen.

Yes

He'll play a couple series in the first half and get yanked. That's if he starts at all.

im shaking im so angry right now.

hes had 18 starts. its not a matter of practice anymore, HE CAN NOT DO THE frickING JOB.

i like Miles, ive defended him, but this dumb bastard has just condemned us to another season of mediocrity and wasted another year. we will never win the west with Jordan at QB.

I don't get this mentality.

JJ has shown repeatedly that he CANNOT get it done. Why start him, then give JL a series here or there.

Start and play JL until he shows he is worse or at least no better than JJ.

UNACCEPTABLE!!! How can he really think Jefferson gives us the best chance to win?

Would you bet your bank account Lee gives us the best chance to win? If so, when did that happen last year?

I would imagine it feels just like this. In fact, it would be nicer to show us that we just suck throwing the ball than it is to think that we MAY be better with someone else, but the coach won't even let him get a chance.

Calm down

1) you dont bench an undefeated QB
2) You dont clue Tenn into what you might do
3) Theres a lot of film and practice left to see
4) JLee did see action last week in a 6 pt spread
5) Hes said that JLee may be earning the spot, not that JJ is losing it. Trying to salvage both egos, because he may need both
6) There is no guarantee that the playcalling will improve, because it takes the option out of the book, so ....
