If JJ started the season in this fashion, how would you respond?

Lee’sstatistics were modest - he completed 10-of-22 for 98 yards and a touchdown - but he was hampered by severaldrops by his receiversand didn’t turn the ballover

whether it's JJ or Lee out there.. that doesn't change the fact that there were roughly 100 yards lost in dropped passes. not passes broken up, but legit drops.

You started an identical thread, dude. I think you may have had the longest delayed double post in TD history.

this is complete BS. if JJ were in the game ppl would say he was inaccurate and no one could have caught the passes and a 10-22 performance is terrible. Input Lee in to the game and he had a great game if you add the 7 drops he would have had 17-22 with over 200 yards. Yeah some weren't right in there hands but the receivers gotta make plays too! and thats the truth

Why can't we just be happy for JL and the tigers on a great in last night. Why do we have to bring up JJ? Was he there ?
Did he play? and shut the hell up about JJ

My point is that the level of quaterback play rather from JJ or JL has to be much much better, and the JL we saw last night is the JL that has always shown up. I would like to see him held to the same critique that JJ would have. It appears when JJ has similar outings with just as many drops it's a QB issue, remember the countless " drops" last year with TT and company. Last nite I saw an all to familiar pattern out of JL, throws off the back foot , and lack of accuracy, you know the norm, however its not JL it's the receivers..

I'm not here to bash JL, just the obivious unbalanced arguments used on the board to support your guy.

Obtw, I'm fairly certain that any posting issues where due to cell phone connection issues.. I.am truely apologetic and would not want to upset the true genius that lives here on the Rant. Please forgive me.. Thanks in advance...

So his clutch throws in big situations last year was just typical JL?

IDK why i'm about to get into this... (maybe a glutton for punishment )

quote:

JL we saw last night is the JL that has always shown up

He was not called upon to throw the ball as much as he was in '08, for this I am grateful.

quote:

throws off the back foot

That for the most part was still there, even when it seems like he isn't doing it.

quote:

lack of accuracy

This is the main one I disagree with. I feel that his accuracy was GREAT in this game. There were a good number of throws that were in receivers hands, most notably with Clement and one of Wright's drops. Other than the ball thrown behind D. Peterson, his accuracy looked good to me. I think that he may have been putting too much touch on it to keep it away from UO defenders when he really could have zipped it more. I think if he would have done that he might have a couple more TDs, particularly on two throws- one to Peterson and the one Wright dropped where he came back to adjust to it.

To answer OP, I think if it were JJ, after much hype, the rant might have had a meltdown. I can't imagine what the reaction was after Lee ALMOST had a Pick 6 stuck to him...

...anybody wanna give me a synopsis of THAT meltdown?

The same as everyone else...that it looked for all the world like our passing game was still going to be the weak spot of this offense. But then I fell JJ gives LSU the best chance of winning, despite not being very good himself...so I'd have no need to try and spin what really took place on the field.

Wouldn't have been much difference in passing ydg.JJ would have made some plays running the ball,no doubt.
