I'm a big Crowton hater, but if Gonzales can actually coach JJ and help him improve then it does help me remember the 2007 play calling and at times it was pretty damn good.

Now all we need is a coach to remind JJ that his receivers are tall and to quit throwing it at their feet or at their midsection where 5'9 corners can knock it away.

I would like to see them learn to execute the wrinkles they already have.

BINGO. LSU O-Line gave up most sacks in SEC. Real great at run blocking. 30yds on 31 attempts. Carencro High School O-line was better and they were terrible.

'wrinkles' are not what we need. we need a back to basics approach, fundamentals, blocking and tackling, pitch and catch.

Wonder if there will be a new wrinkle to the short side option?

I hear this same old shite year after year. I'll believe it when I see it.

fail.

there are plenty of teams with small or slow or just plain crappy offense lines that still move the ball just fine. it's called moving the pocket, running bootlegs, zone blocking, etc. they may not have a power running game, but I guarantee they can average more than 300 yds/game.

The 2011 bowl game will be epic if these new wrinkles are true.

And no, ipodking, I didn't hear that from you first, I heard it from my 12-year-old female cousin that had to be corrected on the fact that he was a football player, not a wide receiver, before she could say he would be the SEC football POTY.

Just take that and think about it for a bit.

You mean he actually teaches the QBs what to do and what it's supposed to look like?
Could it be that Gonzales is more like Jimbo Fisher in being able to 'coach' the QB's?? Sounds like a good plan to me!

I hope one of those new wrinkles is scrapping the fricking QB option.

Well, since Alleva wouldn't allow us to get rid of Crowton...this is a start

Can anyone teach JJ how to shorten his delivery? I'm more concerned with that than anything else involving JJ.

If JJ is our QB next year I'm going to become a McNeese fan.

I agree that the o-line was the biggest problem this year, but changes can still be made. Personal, blocking scheme, ext. Look for this o-line to be better next year if bigger o-linemen like Hurst and Blackwell start nest year. (If personel, scheme, and coaching is all the same next year, then we are in trouble.)

You might think that the best changes would have involved a new o-line coach. This might have been the best course of action. I do wonder how the 2007 and 2008 o-lines were fine under Stud and then suddenly dropped off in 2009. One thing is for certain. This team must be better on the o-line and d-line for us to win the SEC next year. That was the difference between UF/bAMA and us this past year.
