The National Football Foundation and College Hall Of Fame announced Wednesday that LSU play-by-play announcer Jim Hawthorne will be the 2015 recipient of the NFF Chris Schenkel Award. Presented annually since 1996, the award recognizes individuals who have had long, distinguished careers broadcasting college football with direct ties to a specific university.
Hawthorne begins his 33rd and final season as the play-by-play voice of LSU football this fall. He began calling play-by-play for the Tigers in 1983. Hawthorne will accept the award December 8th at the 58th NFF Annual Awards Dinner at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

I can type 150 words per minute if I type the letter "I" but it's hard holding the caps button down. I can remember in high school that I took home ed by mistake and me and one other dude were in the class and the rest were chicks. I learned how to type then and I am glad. It was in the early 80's but I won't tell my age. Can probably type about 40 wpm but I'm not sure. Maybe 10wpm more.

You're right. Guess the advocate is severely slacking. Its on Nola, LSUsports.net, USA Today, Shreveport Times, Daily Advertiser, WAFB.com, and Tigerdroppings lol. Not to mention a dozen other small time websites.

Chris Schenkel was fired from doing college football because he refused to name the players who committed bad plays ( fumbles, interceptions, etc. ).

He was demoted to covering bowling.
