He is not optimistic. I wish the voice of the tigers was a person who had a little more hope and faith inside of them.

This thread is negative.

Is he supposed to sound excited that a SS that has never pitched before is striking us out?

You people

Ignig, The only people who support JH are the ones who share his pessimistic attitude. Unfortunately, that is 90% of the LSU fan base. I'm afraid we are stuck with him until his country career takes off.

you should know by now that if someone has to explain what you're doing wrong on the internet, you're not going to fix it.

Today it's Jim Hathorne. Tomorrow Dan Borne will be in your crosshairs.

Who is this Hathorne you speak of? Pronounced Hat Horney?

I agree with the OP. I don't need to have a Pollyanna doing the commentary for LSU sports, but Hawthorne can be over the top with his negativity at times. It's his go-to attitude. I've been saying for a long time that we need a fresh voice in the booth, and I stick by that. I don't think ANYONE should be the "voice of the Tigers" in EVERY sport or in every sport in excess of 20 YEARS.

Give someone else a shot! There ARE other people out there, you know.

Well it wasn't just his complaining about Dozar striking out in the bottom of the 12th. He couldn't understand why USM or LSU was trying to steal 2nd base in the late innings. He said that Mahtook getting picked off in the 9th was the absolute worst thing that could have happenend for LSU (silly me, I thought a double play would have been worse). As soon as USM hit the HR he complained that stranding those runners earlier will beat you every time. He knew it would come back to get them.

Has Hawthorne ever been around LSU baseball in the last 20 years? Has he never seen them come back before?

Ohhh, the Internet has been the single worst thing to EVER happen to sports. Some of you people are out of your fricking minds.

If you referring to the end of the game last night I can just about guarantee you he was being negative because it was late, he was tired, and didn't want to be there rather than LSU just not being able to push the winning run across.

Maybe a little of Hawthorne's negativity could be tolerated were he not incompentent at what he does.

Not to mention he is a jackass to whoever is in the booth with him.
