From an eligibility standpoint, the season away from football amounted to a redshirt year, sending Hill into 2012 as a freshman running back with four seasons to play.
Pretty sure your eligibility clock doesn't start ticking until you enroll in school.

Why does all this garbage have to be a big secret? Just go or stay. Say it and get it over with. The amount of attention players and recruits seek and the ALL ABOUT ME spotlight is retarded.

Thanks for the tip armchair QB.

I think he should walk up to the microphone and calmly (with as straight a face as possible) state:
"My name is Jeremy Hill and I hereby announce my candidacy for the 2014 Heisman Trophy, any questions?"

Jeremy has his out if he wants to take it. If he stays, it will tell you how much that kid has grown up.
The grown up and smart thing to do is go pro.

Why would someone hold a press conference to say he is staying ????
To possibly state the reason why he is staying. I think if he does, he's doing it as a thank you to Miles.

Ha...I'm one of them. Actually, I don't bitch about it, but I do think it's becoming an issue for Miles/the program since our guys leave in huge numbers compared to all other schools. You can't blame a lot of players for going. But I think it would big for the program to get anyone to stay at this point because everybody has been leaving early
Four years is not leaving early you dumbshit, I am so tired of people keep saying that. We had four people leave after only 3 years in the system, FOUR. You've done your job if you stay four years because you can lose your redshirt playing one down.

I was under the impression his eligibility never started. he still had 5 years to play 4. He is a sophomore.

I hope he stays, but I am not getting my hopes up. Can you imagine the studs we can line up at RB if he is here? We may need to go to the 2 back pro set just to get them in the game.

Gotta get that Heisman talk started early.

JH is awesome and everything, but the fella from Ga. (Todd Gurley) says hello. I honestly think if Hill stays and everyone is injury free it will come down to these two phenoms for the trophy. Then Travis Henry & Yeldon come to mind.....I'm so confused.

quote:several recruiting site gurus got information directly from our staff that a few guys from New Orleans were LSU silent commitments. These kids straight up lied to our coaching staff. That information then got passed down by word of mouth. Don't blame "recent insiders" for being wrong. Everyone is going to be wrong when a recruit purposefully lies.
I'm gonna assume he's gone just because of the recent insiders being spectacularly wrong at the ua game

Yeah but he wouldn't have this great opportunity to be selected now if Miles didn't reinstate him to the team. He has to believe that no matter what his draft status will be the same, if not better, next year if he stays.
Posted on 1/8/14 at 5:41 am to Datbayoubengal
Only reason to stay is that he enjoys college and wants to continue to be a student athlete. Great news for LSU but as a RB I question the decision, he has nothing to gain from a professional standpoint really.

He may have not even been drafted this year if Miles didn't let him back on the team. What is he projected? 3rd round, could come back and improve his draft stock. Possible with this offense next season.
Posted on 1/8/14 at 5:51 am to tzimme4
He isn't going to improve his stock to Top 15 which is where the money is. We've covered the difference between 2nd round money and 3rd and while it is a couple hundred thousand it isn't millions. The dude was projected anywhere from late second to early 4th anyway so he was going to get paid. Plus a bar fight isn't going to drop his stock and he has stayed clean since the whole rape thing.
If anything it slightly hurts his stock as it is another year of taking a pounding either by blocking or running you are looking at 200+ additional hits he is taking while playing for free.

If he comes back it is completely because of his respect for Les Miles.
