With the current Jennings situation, it seems as though Harris is the clear #1. Many would argue that this situation may be a gift in disguise for eliminating the potential QB race lasting into the Fall. This brings up a few scenarios that I'd love to get feedback on:

1.) Will this be the clear cut decider in who gets the reps with the 1st team exclusively from here on?

2.) If the situation plays out and Jennings is given a legal slap on the wrist, does he jump right back into contention for the starting job?

3.) If Jennings starts game 1, is behavior/ discipline a factor for Les Miles (Mathieu, Hill, Jennings, etc)?

4.) If Harris can't grab the bull by the horns now and doesn't distinguish himself as the clear starter with this edge, is he that bad?

Just food for thought. Unleash the one word answers and sarcastic BS. I'll weed through for educated responses.

No...you won't. This is an LSU sports message board, presumably filled with LSU fans...and yet, we can't stop with threads that literally pit our players against each other.

Why is it so hard for our fans to follow the team in the same vain as former Tiger Travis Daniels once played here..."I play for the name on the side of my helmet, not the name on the back of my jersey."

Wouldn't it be great if for one season our own fans aimed their issues at the rest of the SEC (you know, the actual enemies) instead of squarely at our own program, players and coaches?

Ah well...wishful thinking. Proceed...

ETA:

And yes...I realize the OP's post was not worded in such as way as most of these threads are...but we all know what this will turn into based nothing more on the thread title.

It's not this this couldn't be an interesting topic...it's that WHEN it goes off the rails one of our players will be under the bus at the hands of our fans.

Coaching staff is probably more concerned about the lack of quality depth, especially if the Jennings suspension drags on. Let's hope Harris doesn't have any kind of learning disorder because they've got a lot invested in his ability to absorb an offensive scheme. I expect a bunch of zone read mixed with a healthy dose of Fournette, etc..

1) One can only hope
2) One can only hope not
3) Yes, but Jennings ain't starting game one that's pretty much written in stone
4) No, Jennings did not grab the bull by the horns his true sophomore season yet he remained the starter. Harris has to at least be given a season of actually starting before he is written off.

Neither one is very good, so who cares. If we're unable to pound the ball with our running game, we'll be doing good to win 6 or 7 games this season.

The big loser here is Coach Miles. If Harris starts, and does well, every Miles Basher will say that Jennings' legal trouble saved Miles from himself.

Let me be the first to downvote you.

One was a true freshman and the other a true sophomore. At those points in his career Mett sucked.

Last season most of us wanted to see Harris get some reps after the Auburn game and he didn't. CLM went all in on Jennings and now he's probably kicking himself in the arse for being such an idiot. Those 10-20 reps a game could potentially be the difference between an 8 or 12 win regular season.

Thanks CLM for being the average coach that you are. If the team isn't ready to make a run its all CLM's fault.

This is the best post so far concerning this thread. Miles stayed w Jennings and now here we are..... I agree Miles and staff should have given Harris more snaps. What an idiot indeed.
