The announcers lied before the Spring Game started?

No that's not what its about, its. Bout anothher case where jj says something that many lsu fans don't exaxtly understand. Once again it would behoove jj to keep his mouth closed and focus on being best qb he can be. I don't get what part of that is not going over well with some of you.. Why you wouldn't agree is beyond me.
I think this is about as fair and balanced statement that describes how most feel about JJ.
I will go as far as take some of the intelligent criticism I have received and refrain from the quote "bashing of JJ" by posting his stats and quotes and criticizing him until the season starts and he either proves he has improved and can consistently produce (I say consistently I am not going to jump on board after one good performance) I will give him his props. However if he performs like I believe he will as the season goes and does not produce on a consitent basis I will criticize his performance and question why he would still be the starting qb. I think that is more than fair and if it is not enough for the rabid hate filled posters such as Geaux Tahell then so be it.
I welcome comment from some of the more intelligent posters such as Big Ed or those of his ilk on this posting.

I'm saying jj needs to let his actions/play do the talking.
Well, so far his "actions/play" have talked loud enough for him to be running 1st team since 11/08 as judged by those who count...the LSU staff.
Perhaps the disconnect lies not in JJ's "actions/play" but in the minds of those who refuse to hear what that staff is saying to them to this point in time.
While JJ might have made a couple comments in his career that he would have been better served not making, so freaking what? The guy started carrying the load for LSU at 18 and is now 20 yrs old. You thought maybe he would never mis-speak? Did you at that age? I sure in the hell did and I didn't have reporters dogging my steps wanting quotes.
Seems to me that on the whole, JJ has handled his role with the media as LSU starting QB for 2+ years bout as well as one would expect for a 18 to 20 yr old guy.

quote:I have a suggestion (not sarcastic): just leave them. I go months without visiting the Rant at times for exactly this reason. These moronic jackasses get more boring than the woefully few interesting posters are interesting, so I just leave. After a few weeks/months I swing back around and see how things are going. Apparently, the idiots are worse than ever, so I'll be moseying along again.
I think I actually enjoyed being a fan more pre-internet message boards.
Oh, and btw, the conversations over at Tiger Den, while much less active, are FAR more intelligent, rational, realistic, interesting, and all around represent MUCH better quality people. And even there there are a few assinine individuals out to ruin the conversation for everyone else.

We've always had a-hole fans but now they have an outlet to collectively gather and spew shite.
The corollary of course being that the more dickwad-like the person was to begin with, the greater the dickwad he becomes on the internet.

Lonnie not flaming you but I think what is being said is he has made quotes that have not matched his performance and a large portion of the fanbase in my opinion would like to see his play match up to his statements.
I will also say staffs are not infallible. I think of the Saban staff after Rohan replaced Booty in 2000, Rohan was hurt in the upset of Tenn and aggravated it in the Fla game and was replaced by Booty while he healed. However when he was back at 100% the staff chose to stay with Booty for the remainder of the season including a horrible something like 3 for 17 performance like Arky. Rohan didnt play after the Fl game till the 2nd half of the Ga Tech bowl game. I think we all agree that Rohan had shown up to and after the time of his injury he was the better qb yet Saban started Booty over him. Hence I think there is a reasonable debate to JJ earning the starting position if for no other reason than his performance in 2010 and even up to the spring game.

What...that hands down he will start? Maybe not the best choice of words, but lets face it...at this time he appears to be a pretty strong favorite to start since it's 50 days to the opener and he is running #1.
I saw nothing in the filmed Q&A session that bothered me, but if you and others did...fine...that's your right.

True, even good staffs make bad calls on and off the field.

I believe that whoever starts will have earned it just like they do each season at each position in the eyes of the LSU staff and thats good enough for me whether that staff be "infallible" or not.

Actually I was more referring to the I played fine quote after the McNeese game and the spring quote about being around for 3 years and that gives him an advantage over everyone and I think my overall play has been fine quote!
I dont think any objective LSU fan would agree with those two quotes for starters.

He said in the interview at the camp that he knew he had to play better for the team and the fans.
That's good enough for me, but each to our own.
