And that's leaving out better programs like Okie St, Kansas St, Gonzaga, etc. which probably aren't better jobs if both teams are meeting full potential.

Nice list. A look at some of those teams basketball facilities compared to the PMAC would be eye-opening as well.

For example, Missouri, which didn't make your list:

26 Luxury Suites
State-of-the-art training room
Expanded locker room facilities complete with film room and player lounge and nutrition center
24-Hour Practice gym
Basketball office complex
Box office and team store
Missouri Athletics Hall of Fame

Tyrus fits that profile. The other two were McDonald's AAs.

has anyone been through the bb training facility , it seems like its a top notch facility with all the bells and whistles , so how does it compare to other schools.....

15 mil is a lot for a training facility it seems like it should be on par with the top programs....

Probably as good or better than some but the PMAC is in the bad position of not being a new show palace or old/historic enough to be charming.

I'm sure with the addition of the training facility it woul be a long time before they build a new arena , but maybe they will put more $$$ into the interior in a few years ....

I haven't been to a game since the Brady era but I have football season tix and pass by it all the time during football season and to me it looks good .....

Yes me.

The whole complex is amazing. It's not just the practice court- which has a viewing mezzanine above it. The locker rooms, film room with state of the art audiovisual equip, "relaxation" room (don't know how else to describe it, it's where the players hang)offices, equipment room and other rooms. The hallways and ceiling have fantastic graphics on them.
There is a small circular area at the end of the main hall, which leads to the team locker room on one side and the visitors' locker room on the other. It's got a huge graphic of Mike, and on the ceiling a great big tiger eye. I love it. The visiting team has to pass through there.

Bear in mind, when you think of $15mill (if that's what it cost), there is an identical facility for the women's team back to back in the practice facility.

On the balance I don't think so - the talent is certainly in the region but the school lives for football and baseball has a firm hold on the #2 spot. LSU has enormous potential to succeed for sure tho and the right coach would potentially be transformative IF he were interested in staying to build an elite program.

I think if you asked any non-lsu fan to name the top 20 jobs LSU would not be on many lists at all

Seriously? Easy:

Illinois
Syracuse
KU
UK
UF
FSU
Mich st
Mich
OSU
Indiana
Wisconsin
Duke
GT
Mizzou
UNC
NC State
ND
Pitt
Virginia
Wake Forest
Arky
Tenn
Vandy
Arizona
Oregon
UCLA
USC
Louisville
Cincy
Memphis
UCONN
Maryland
OU
Texas
KState
Baylor
Okie St
WVU
Villanova
Marquette
St. John's
Xavier
SDSU
Gonzaga

All are undoubtedly a better job than LSU except for maybe the last 6 I listed. And I even left out a lot of SEC teams who are equal or probably better than LSU fan and facility-wise. As it stands, LSU is a top 35-40 program. Nowhere near top 20.

Would you identify any players of consequence that were run off by Brady? How did they fare at their new destination. I know Ross Neltner had some success but Brady and Company also went to the Final Four at the same time. So who else?

Its interesting that when Nick Saban or Les Miles decide not to renew scholarships its called processing.

We really should do something about the configuration of the PMAC. The student section is just set up awfully.

Obviously we need to draw more students first, but still.

Same as Florida. We have the money and fanbase to support a top tier BB program. If we had a Billy Donovan we'd be just like Florida.
I agree with this.

Based on his previous three basketball hires, I have no confidence what-so-ever that Snow Peas would ever be able to hire a great coach that was equally competent in recruiting, game management and X's/O's.

Power Brokers may have to step in and say "Enough is Enough. Lets go after this Coach A or this Coach B. This is how much $$$$$$$$$$$ it's going to take.

JJ has one more year to do something or this might have to actually happen. Basketball CAN be just like it was in the Glory Days but that will NOT happen until the right coach is in place. And no, I don't think JJ is the right coach.

First off, Joe Alleva and the powers that be don't care enough about basketball. It's how we ended up with Jones instead of a top flight coach.

As for Brady, how much time you got? From the constant drunken state and running around on his wife to just barely doing enough to keep his job to running off players/not emphasizing grades that resulted in our abysmal API is why he sucked and there's no other rational way to sum him up.

Apparently our A.D. doesn't think so because he didn't assign that much importance to the budget and coaching search. Not to bash Jones because he may be ok/mediocre, its clear however that he is not a top 20 quality coach at least as far as in game coaching. We badly under achieved this year. Unfortunately his hiring is not indicative of a school that believes its basketball program is a high priority and has high potential, in my opinion.

Agree but am willing to give this guy one more year. Definitely let some games get away from us this season, but 3 years is a sufficient amount of time to determine whether a BB coach can make his mark on a program and have success.

Brady was horrible as a manager of the program. He was an able coach when he had decent players, but he was not able to fill a roster with decent players on a consistent basis. He had a tendency to recruit players who lacked athleticism, and his teams frequently looked overmatched. In hindsight, it looks like he got lucky twice in finding enough athletic players who were willing to come to LSU. And that just wasn't good enough.
