Can you imagine him or ODB in Sean Payton's offense? Both of them are more talented versions of Lance Moore.

Can they play LT?

Landry deserves to be put on the other side of the field from Dez B.

Probably would be no worse than the current left tackles the Saints have.

I would hate for Landry to go to that dumpster fire in Dallas

You're always going to hear on this board that this or that LSU player is going to be drafted first or second round, can't miss and so on. If you look back over the past years, rarely does it happen. First or seconds end up 7th or free agents. Happens at all schools I'm sure.

Landry is a 2nd-3rd rounder and that grade will never get better than it is now.

He has hands of glue, is a solid route runner and a good blocker. He won't be any higher because he lacks the athleticism that GMs would want to take a receiver that high in the draft.

Still, Landry will have a double-digit length career in the NFL assuming he stays healthy

I don't care what grade he gets, will have a nice NFL career. NFL will covet a receiver that can make plays like he did especially on 3rd down. NFL is a passing league and he will have a role somewhere. Could you imagine Brees hooking up with Landry with Saints.

I REALLY want him back, more than any other player, but I tend to agree with everything you wrote!

Maybe, but they gave grades to Sammy Watkins and Greg Robinson, both of whom declared after Jarvis.

apparently McShay doesn't have a write-up on Jarvis (or didn't as of Oct), but thinks he's a day 2 pick. so 2nd or 3rd rd, where other mocks seem to have him.

quote:

McShay said he did not do a work up page on Landry but the 6-feet-1, 195-pounder from Lutcher has opened his eyes.

"I've watched him play, been really impressed," McShay said. "He's not as quick as Beckham but he's a silky smooth route runner who separates well, and has some big play ability. I'm really impressed with his hands and his focus in traffic. Both of those guys are going to be Day 2 receivers if they decide to come out."

I have a bet on him and OBJ going before the 3rd round. I would love if he stays, but I don't think he's as valuable a Jeremy Hill returning. I don't think he should return. If he returns it is HIGHLY unlikely he has another 1000 yard receiving year and that would be the only thing that could help him. He has proven hands, route running, effort, and football IQ. Another year will not improve anything, but his stats and our chances at winning more games. I will gladly lose my bet to have Jarvis back.

I don't know if Landry is more talented than Lance Moore, but he's certainly at least as talented, and a bit bigger...? He would be a tenacious slot guy.

Landry is more valuable. He was my offensive MVP this year, and the team apparently agreed.

Who cares what McShay or "the hair helmet" says. It only takes one team. He will be really late first or 2nd rnd. It will depend on his combine or pro-day numbers. He is head and shoulders above the majority of receivers eligible for the draft. His status will change once his game tapes and measurables get out. What qualifies McShay to grade anyone, he has never been a Scout, etc. So who cares.

Landry has been the most reliable WR that LSU has had for many years - Landry is "money"....someone you don't concern yourself with missing a catchable ball....yet, also makes some of the more remarkable catches (in or out of traffic)....great on special teams.

Most importantly, he's a selfless, quiet LEADER.....the epitome of a true "team player".....swagger without lifting a hand or shaking a hip. Don't care how many talented receivers you replace him with - he has the "IT" factor - we will miss having him at LSU!

Good luck, Jarvis!

Jarvis is one of those WR's that would excel in the Patriots offense. If Deion Branch could do well in that offense, so could Jarvis (and Jarvis is significantly taller than Branch).

I think the best place for him is Detriot. Lined up at WR2 opposite of Calvin Johnson, Jarvis would dominate.

Jarvis Landry is a damn solid player, but this is just stupid.

That's pretty much his ceiling, IMO.

Depending on how he runs at the combine, he could drop significantly.
