Jared Foster in the lineup?

Did Jared Foster do enough this weekend to make him an everyday starter in the post season? I know CPM values defense, but Foster had a great defensive showing at the tournament and his bat is hotter than his competition.

Also, any word on Laird's injury?

I'd almost like to see Rhymes ,Laird(if healthy),Foster in the OF.

As far as Laird is concerned, he was walking very gingerly on crutches after the game Sunday. I don't see how he can play this weekend.

I dont want to see Stephenson out of the lineup

He proved his worth on the field this weekend with that catch in CF

Laird is hurt. Foster should play absolutely.

a catch that Laird would have made as well. Stevenson seems to get a bad jump on the ball at times.

Foster made a great catch too, by that logic, neither should come out of the lineup

Foster should be in the lineup regardless, but it's certainly a debate to have laird vs stevenson at this point. I'd like to see Stevenson get some more time as well so that these two guys can be part of a solid defensive outfield for the next few years.

Yeah your CF is the quarterback of the outfield and one who is as good as him doesn't come around often. We will need that speed/talent if we make it to Omaha since the field is similar to the Met. A great defensive CF is huge down the road.

Laird/stevenson are interchangeable

Yeah pretty much. Mainieri thinks both are outstanding defensively but I think I remember him saying he thinks Stevenson is the best in that aspect earlier this season. Either way, I think you get similar output in all aspects from both. Similar skill sets.

Stevenson is the better bunter while laird is a better hitter.

Well they won't be coming out of the lineup but I dont think any of the other outfielders may that play.

Yep, but i dont think laird or stevenson can take over a game like foster did. Dude made a diving catch, gunned a guy at the plate, stole a base in a huge situation, and got a couple hits

Laird is faster and would've made the play. Foster absolutely deserves to start. With the size of the field in Omaha, don't be surprised if Laird and Stevenson are both in the lineup.
