Will they remain as DL coach & STC/OLB coach?

Jancek joined BK in 2022 as a Sr. Defensive Analyst.

In Spring 2023, he was elevated to Special Teams Coordinator & OLB coach and Bob Diaco was hired as the new Sr. Defensive Analayst.

Once Jimmy Lindsey went down, Jancek was moved to DL coach & Diaco stepped into the STC/OLB role.

I would assume they would move back to their previous role, but maybe not? They’re both still currently shown on the website for 2024 roster/coaching staff.

We better bring in a great DL coach and a real ST coach.

Greg McMahon is just baking cakes in his kitchen in New Orleans right now.

Would love to see Thomas McGaughey back in BR, but I think Jancek at least deserves his shot at STC.

According to who, Bob Diaco?

I don't know much about his past but if you thought ST was a strength this year, you watched a different team then me.

Whether a team is good at special teams usually has more to do with the head coach and how much emphasis is placed on ST in the practice schedule. I'm starting to wonder if CBK is among those who place less emphasis there.

Please, no. Our d line was terrible last year. LSU needs to bring in a Brad Davis type for the d line ASAP. And special teams were not the best. I’d like to see a full time coach there.

which I don't understand. ST covers the most yardage on any given play and can flip the field. We have limitless money and four practice fields. Commit more time to it

It's not limited by fields or money. It is limited by players. Many of the guys on ST are also in the offensive/defensive 2 deep. Some coaches don't like taking time away from practicing offense/defense to focus on ST.

Well last year was a mess of an experiment. You had two guys coaching in a role they weren’t hired to do, but apparently that’s what Brian Kelly (or Matt House) thought was best.

It would make sense for Jancek to step back into the full time role as STC, but I’d prefer if they’d hire someone who has a career as a ST coach instead of making a defensive coach do it.

Hopefully kelly learned his lesson and hires elite coaches foe the defensive side.

Diaco as the special teams coach I could live with.

Jancek should not have an on field role. Imo kelly should bring McMahon back. He is out of a job.

Why

He has never coached special teams

Jancek was hired as the STC last year. Why should he get punished for Jimmy Lindsey’s health emergency?

and i get that. that's why i wasn't surprised by the ST performance of 2022. We didn't even have a full roster and weren't done putting a product out yet. We have more than the 85 roster now so we need to commit players and coaches to ST more

May be waiting for the LA Rams season to end before we get their DL coach, Eric Henderson.
