Why did you use quotes when calling him above average? In what world was he anywhere near average while at LSU?

the quotes were around "college", not above average.

Okay, explain why you used quotes. Was he not a college QB?

Also, explain in what world is the Manning Award winner in any average category

Well he wasn't a good NFL QB. That's why i put college.

And last time i checked Above Average is good term.

So you have no idea what the function of a set of quotation marks is then?

Right, but it GROSSLY understates how good he was here. You're either trolling for responses (which you got; congrats) or you're just not very smart.

Sure do. Emphasizing college in order to rule out his pro career.

quote:

understates how good he was here

From your argument I would say you understated his performance here too. Probably should have used the word "great".

How about a bold or italic?

Maybe even an underline?

Quotations aren't correct. Just saying

The adjective itself accomplishes it

Negative. She has a full time job and makes pretty good money at that. Nice try though! By the way, you used unnecessary quotations.

Hell, his first game he led us back against Oregon State.

Add in Ole Miss with 4 starters out on the oline too.

Mett was way better than JR with only one seception... his arm. However, Mett also had a great arm.

Mett read defenses better than he did. I Also remember JR screwing things up every game and having to come back from behind too much.

This question should be a no brainer. Mett at LSU and he will have a much better career than JR did which is not really saying much anyway.

Like against MSU when he went 18 for 20 for 330 yards and 3 touchdowns in a little over a half of football.

Or against Kentucky when he went 15 for 18 for 226 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Or Alabama when he went 18/21 for 207 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Or 2005 Alabama when we got our 1st road victory over a top 5 team in half a century despite having torn wrist ligaments.

Mobility, pocket presence, accuracy, interceptions, etc. There really isn't an area that Mett did better than him at. I love Mett too, but JR was a once in a lifetime player for LSU.

It really should be. He also didn't have the benefit of Jeremy Hill and the running game. We had injured/fat Broussard and Vincent for the 1st half the season

Mett certainly did read defenses better. You can nit pick all that you want with loaded examples but it won't change anything.

Here are a few thoughts for ya...

If not for two games with multiple picks, Mett had a TD-Int ratio that might have set LSU records last year.

Mett was super clutch on third downs and that is huge.

As for not being mobile, I did hear something about Mett playing hurt for most of the season which killed his scrambling ability. One of the reasons why I am a fan of his is that he was awesome at taking those little steps around the pocket to avoid the rush.

I am also pretty sure that the Tigers were favored to win it all while JR was at LSU. I am pretty sure that JR had a much better defense backing him up than Mett had last year. If Mett would have had that kind of defense then he shouldn't have lost more than one game.

The bottom line is that I like his ability to run the offense a whole lot more than I like JR's.
