When I watched this live I thought Adams just made an athletic play. But when I went back and watched the replay, you can see Adams recognizes the formation, runs to the opposite side of the formation before the snap(away from the strong side/his responsibility), and makes the play.

This guy is elite.

Yep. Also helps that the players are allowed to watch film now of their opponents.

He made another great play earlier when he ran the width of the field to make a solo tackle on the Heisman Trophy winner.

Good observation. I wonder how much Dave Aranda game plan had to do with this?

Ya, that's the one everyone is talking about. This one is almost as good, but I didn't see many people mention it.

One of the best safetys around the LOS I've ever seen. His only issues seem to be in coverage, but he's still above average at it.

Although I love Adams as much as anyone in the world...we don't really know what his "responsibility" was on this play. We don't know what the coverage was, clearly Battle is playing a free zone, Adams could have had the right flat coverage

That's possible, but I think Adams just flat out read the play. Right at the beginning of the GIF, you can see Adams point to the left edge of the formation like that's where the play was going. Then he runs over there to make the play himself.

If anything, his responsibility was the opposite flat since the running back was to that side and two h-backs.

The play be made when he read the zone read and covered the entire field to tackle Jackson will be on his NFL film. Don't see too many guys do that.

Love Adams and the way he plays. He represents what DBU is about.

Remember this his Freshman year? I knew he was legit.
Look then compared to now how he's bulked up. Dude will be upper echelon in the NFL one day soon.

He clearly knew exactly what that play was before the snap.
