Jalen Collins...thoughts on the pick?

Falcons fan here. Was just wondering what you guys thought about the pick? Is he gonna be a good one for us? Never really got to see to much of him but his film looks really good and I like it because of y'all's track record for DB's. Can he come right in and make an impact or is he more of a project? Thanks.

Honestly,IMHO probably the quietest highest LSU guy drafted. If that makes sense. He has all the measurables for as for height and speed. Quietly put together a solid career. Unlike a lot of great past LSU db's he never stood out because he was never a special teams standout. Should help the Falcons out but far as a shut down corner time will tell. Good luck except against the saints.

He Has the measureables and tools. He was very good last year, not elite, but very good. Now the year before that he was bad. You can't fault him for that though because he obviously gained experience from that and improved. With his size and athletic ability the ceiling is very high.

Wish him the best. Honestly I think the NFL puts too much into combine numbers. Solid college corner but nothing more in my opinion.
Was never a top 3 overall player in our secondary in his 4 years here (RS JR). And as good as LSU is in the secondary the NFL is a different animal. If he wasn't a top player here I don't see how he will be a top player on an NFL squad.
if he had stayed in college I think he would have been our 4th best secondary player this upcoming season. Behind white Adams and mills (possibly 5th best if Robinson wasn't kicked off the team). And y'all picked him in the second round.
Solid contributor but I don't think he'll make the impact you expect based off of the round he was drafted in. Unless you think LSU has a better secondary than an NFL team lol, and I'll take that ha.

For perspective, I thought Chevis Jackson was a better CB coming out of college. He went to the Falcons in the 3rd round a number of years ago.

I think the two corners y'all have now will be better pros than Jalen. He does have the height/weight/speed factor working for him, but he struggled against the better receivers in the SEC. Also, he doesn't have the in game experience you would like to see because he was behind better players. I wish him luck in the end though

yeah, that's it......lol
He improved somewhat his senior year. I hope he has a great career in the NFL. I wouldn't have necessarily wanted the saints to draft him.

Very talented but has a problem covering WRs that run good routes in college, which is pretty much every receiver in the NFL. Shocked he went this high, might make an impact for you in 2016 after he learns you need more than talent in the NFL and works on his game.
