Does this have to be posted in basically every thread on the rant?

Interesting. The offense improved as the year progressed and the defense appeared to decline yet we demand a new OC but give pay raises to the D.

First of all, we don't really know if there is a true "offer." I still suspect this is an internet confabulation.

Second of all, there is no way I would pay Miles 5.25 MM per year, the amount of the alleged "offer." We're going to pay him more than Saban, who has won two of three NC's? That seems crazy. If I were Alleva and if this were all real, I'd call Miles bluff as I lined up replacements. No way Miles actually moves to the SEC's official afterthought. There isn't a single advantage in it.

He asked LSU for loyalty a couple years ago, I would expect him to do the same.

Dude. This isn't truth or dare with 14 year olds. That's a sure fire recipe to find yourself without a decent replacement and the laughingstock of the college football world.

Why wouldn't Arkansas try to get Les? He is a stable proven winner. If I was coach searching I would atleast give him an offer.

If he did leave we would have coaches lined up trying to get this job. We are full of talent and got plenty of money. LSU is a coaches dream job. Why do think Saban has always regretted leaving?

Hopefully LSU does the right thing and give him an additional 5 million moving allowance.

Arkansas stole our Business School Dean. But that was more of a political/education issue with LSU struggling financially. That really has no bearing on Athletics though.

Thanks for the negotiation advice. Again, if I were Alleva and if there were a "real offer", I'd start exploring replacements while refusing to be held hostage by a sham offer from Arkansas that Miles probably never intends to accept. Alleva can't just immediately submit and pay Miles 5.25 MM a year because Arkansas has bid up the price.

The key question: Do you really believe Miles is going to go to Arkansas? If not, no need to increase Miles pay by an astounding million dollars a year. Maybe something modest as a token of appreciation and good faith, but not 5.25 MM a year. I think that would make him the highest paid coach in the NCAA.

I still think this is all BS.

So the correct way to handle it is to just give in to his every demand? Maybe they could give him a dollar more cause he sure isn't worth 5.5 mil.

I am in Arkie and in Fayetteville . Drive time sports radio says they are not sure if they have even asked to talk to Miles or his agent yet? First on their list was Chris Peterson, then Patterson then Okie State guy and they all declined the job with out an official offer so says these guys who seem to know as one works for Arkie as a PR guy?
Disaster and they had even mention The Oregon HC and were shocked he didn't want to move to Fayetteville Ar Kansas??
