This place is so stupid at times. Most people who saw what was happening with JJ called for him to be benched...which is what happened. Can't have it both ways. .

Always knew JaCoby would be fine, but I called for his one game midweek benching but to start right back the following weekend series.. and that really did turn it all around for him. Sitting that one game made a huge difference.

I had no problem with him getting a game or 2 off here and there either. But some of the jackals here didn't think he should ever play again...in other words they had given up on him for good. Can't hit the curve. Has been in decline since freshman year. Blah Blah Blah.

Exactly. People were saying a lot more than merely thinking he should be benched for a game or two as a motivational tool. Many argued consistently (A) that he was simply not up to the college game once people figured out how to pitch to him his freshman year, (B) that he was a head case, and (C) that there was absolutely no evidence at all to believe he would improve going into this season.

The standard line asserted by the majority here a month ago was this: "It is NOT a slump!"

Yeah, it kind of was.

And Rhymes was over 100 points higher than every other player in the whole conference last season. Crazy.

He is definitely a much better hitter than what he has shown. Probably pressing. I think the bats will start heating up again. I would rather they slump in April and get hot in may and June.

I must admit to being on the fence with him.
I never realy wanted him out of the lineup, mostly for his defense.

I guess his ups and downs at the plate seem to last longer than other hitters, although some of his downs earlier he was knocking the ball around, they just didn't fall in.

When 2-6 were tearing the cover off the ball, I just looked at any hit he got as a bonus.

What is great about this thread is how Team Jacoby has risen to the top. We came together like a pack of wolves and attacked.

Team Jacoby T-shirts go on sale Thursday at the Box, who wants one?

Done, shirts will be ordered today.

They will be a shade of red with a silouette of Alan from Hangover and underneath his face will read, "I tend to think of myself as a one man wolfpack." - Team JaCoCo
